IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

First of all if there is a guide to this please point me in the right direction. I may have missed it when searching online.

I purchased a large lot of coach tags basically for a vintage bag I’m up cycling and I wanted to add a fun charm cluster of tags for fun. Now after receiving the lot I’m concerned a good portion are not authentic. I did purchase online and since the seller is communicating with me I don’t want to point fingers yet.

The two I was most excited about are the middle top brown and black since vintage bags are my favorite. The black feels like a sponge and the brown pealed in half like vinyl. The bottom left is so puffy and awkward.

I appreciate any advice on this or where I can look for more info.
Note that it's not "pointing fingers" to post seller IDs. In fact, it's required (per forum rules) even though the Coach authenticators are more lenient in authenticating items for members who don't include all the information requested.

In fact, seller IDs in posts also help honest sellers whose IDs can be googled and authentications will come up in searches showing their authentic items.

However we also reserve the right to ignore requests or demand that the necessary info is included.

I found the listing you purchased from Jazzy's paradise found / pivy81100:

Hangtags can be difficult to authenticate because it's quite easy to copy a hangtag, they don't require a lot of leather and unless the shape, font or construction is obviously wrong, fakes "pass" more easily than they do with handbags.

Although the pictures in the listing aren't all clear and/or close enough, I see some that are questionable and based on your description of the black one (as spongy), it sounds like it's not authentic.

The peeling of the 2 halves of the brown one isn't necessarily indicative of a fake but that it wasn't disclosed in the listing qualifies it as NAD (not as described). (Listing says to "see photos for the condition and the measurements of the item" but the pictures aren't detailed enough to show condition and there's no tape measure for measurements!)

I can't tell whether the brown one is fake or not from the pictures.

The big black puffy hangtag with the odd script logo appears to be fake also as do at least a couple of the metal hangtags.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me. I’m actually glad you found it because I was nervous about sharing it and when asking for help. I knew it might be impossible to authenticate most of them but the advice on the obvious ones is all I needed. I greatly appreciate it and will brave about sharing the listing in the future.

Hello! Wondering if someone can identify the style number of this large cosmetic pouch. I have it in my records as 6989 and 6990 but now i'm not sure it is either. Pretty sure the 6987-89 series was the domed shape. This one is flat. I have a flat one as 6990 but it is smaller than this one. Could it be 6991? This one measures 8" x 6". Thanks.IMG_6741.JPEGIMG_6743.JPEGIMG_6750.JPEG

It's not 6989 as that is the domed one. This is 6991. The measurements seem to match.
