I appreciate the above discussion on authentification of a bag versus any items that can be removed from the bag. The distinction to make a call on the bag itself sunk in. And as much as I love getting a hang tag, on many bags I don’t even use them if they are a nuisance. I fantasize about finding a baseball hangtag at a flea market haha.
Now there is an Etsy seller making them, fyi, in case you have them cropping up for authentification!!! I did a search here and did not see this mentioned.
By the way, thanks to you ladies and your hard work. I enjoy my hobby and using my bags and am looking forward to making a dent in my rehab pile in 2024. And getting my herd completely authenticated.

I can't read much. From the picture in the listing, I can see it says made in Mexico, which makes me think it is probably authentic. It's unusual for smaller items like this to even have a creed number.
I now have the bag in hand and some of the numbers are still difficult to read because they are light/vanished even with being dusted, a jewelry loop and a flashlight. Three photos are attached - hope you can decipher them.
The patch reads:
"This is a Coach product. It was handcrafted in Mexico from a custom developed material trimmed with our classic gloved tanned leather. This high quality durable fabric has been treated to withstand water and dirt."

The numbers seem to be M9V - 0525 or 0526 maybe. The last digit is almost non-existent.
The lining is solid black fabric, no logo.

Could this case be more along the line of a toiletry/travel case, maybe in the men's accessory line? The number series is throwing me off as I thought N was the Mexico code (and M was Costa Rica). Because the case does have a number, do you still think it's authentic? And if so, any idea what case this might be?

Thanks so much for taking a further look based on the info I now have!

Is this the seller that makes the enameled pins of her fav Coach styles? And leather hang tags to attach the pins to? Watching her cut apart the bags is  but hopefully she is using the worst of the worst bags. At least the bags aren't ending up in the landfills.

ETA: typo

I think it's fine.

V is another Mexican plant code.

Hi Authenticators!

I have my eye on the following two bags from Facebook Marketplace and was hoping to get an idea whether they looked to be authentic.

Item: Coach Court Bag in Bone
Seller and site where listed: Ava Blade, Facebook Marketplace
Link: https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...f=marketplace_profile&referral_code=undefined

Item: Coach Willis Bag in Bone
Seller and site where listed: Ava Blade, Facebook Marketplace
Link: https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...f=marketplace_profile&referral_code=undefined
Comments: There appear to be indentations above the serial number which seems unusual from the other listings I've seen.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I'm getting one of those baseball hangtags next year.
She has put an embossed recycling ♻ symbol at the bottom and they are slightly larger.

Yes they are bags that can't be fixed . She has a beautiful collection.
I got a Pony pin from her...closest I will ever get to a Pony.

Thanks for clarifying this question
And I'm pointing out that it shouldn't really make any difference from the point of view of an authenticator of pre-owned Coaches because there's no dependable way FOR ME to prove that a bag came out of the factory with that hangtag or even that the tag came out of a Coach factory at all. I'm interested in practical, dependable solutions, not intellectual discussions that don't prove anything about the bag being authenticated. No offense, but sometimes a hangtag is just an anonymous bit of leather. The bag is the star, not the hangtag.

If Debi said a flat-topped "a" means fake, her opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. it's fine with me. As long as she's not insisting that a screamingly obvious fake is a genuine Coach like some "authenticators" on other websites I've seen (and some of their mistakes are real doozies), I'll accept her opinion until and unless proven otherwise. But I'm NOT going to spend hours or days searching the internet for hangtags with flat-topped "a"s just to sate my curiosity. If I was worried about a hangtag I'd just replace it with a genuine metal one.

Thanks for clarifying this question

.

By the way, just a word of advice. Be careful where you're getting your information. There's a lot of nonsense and just plain bad information on the internet in both public and private spaces, and some self-apointed "experts" who wouldn't know a Bridle Bag from a bridle path.

JMO.
