Hello all! This is my very first post do please be gentle. My brother bought this key fob for me and my neighbor said it was fake because not all of the charms had coach stamped on the back and it didn't say made in China anywhere. Could someone help me, please?

Here is the front! I'm hoping it's real because I would hate for him to have been cheated
I'm sorry, your neighbor is right. There are plenty of other things wrong about it as well. Don't you think it is odd that it is green, considering the theme?

Could you tell me what else is wrong with it do I can forward him this info when he tries to get his money back
Since every piece has Coach on the front, they wouldn't necessarily have Coach on the back. The hangtag should probably have the country of manufacture on the back. The main thing wrong is the crudeness of the Coach logos. The shape of the lozenge isn't quite right and the lines are too thick. The spacing and the height of the letters is off. The enameling isn't even and the raised letters are almost covered by the enamel.

Thank you, I'll give him this info in sure he's going to be so upset

Whoever sold it to him broke US Federal Anti-Counterfeiting laws. Any LEGITIMATE retailer or venue should be willing to give him a full refund, even if they're not happy about it.

If he bought it using a credit card and it's within the allowable time period for filing a dispute, he needs to do that right away.

Along with being illegal, counterfeit keychains are often loaded with toxic materials like lead and arsenic. Walmart got into serious trouble a few years back for selling cheaply made keychains with illegal concentrations of toxins, and it's obvious with this one that the same potential problems are present, the colored enamels and base materials are much too soft and that can be a sign of high lead levels.

All genuine colored enamel hangtags on Coach keychains that were made in the last 10 or 12 years should have the trademarked Coach logo that uses their own exclusive font, and the top surfaces should be smooth, never all "hills and valleys". See the first 3 photos.

And the ONLY keychain charm Coach ever made like that with a crystal center NEVER used a fake cats-eye type stone in ANY color. The only color that charm was ever made in was Pink and it had a genuine Swarovski faceted pink crystal in the center. It was exclusive to the Breast Cancer Awareness keychain that Coach made in 2005 or 2006. See the last photo.

Name: Coach Scribble Hobo bag(?)
Seller: Purchased from a local thrift store.
Comments: The majority of the bag checks out. What bothers me is the creed. I understand the suede creed may be worn due to items in the bag rubbing against it but the actual wording is barely legible. The serial number reads M05J-133, which when I search it online. Most photos and listings are M05J-132.

Thank you in advance!

Style number 132 was the Small version and 133 was the Medium. The suede patch looks like that because the bag has been washed, probably in a washing machine, which is perfectly ok with that style although it does cause that kind of problem with some leather and suede creed patches. Many Coach styles are actually machine washable if proper care is taken - tPF members do it all the time. It's a genuine Hamptons Weekend Scribble Hobo from 2005.

HURRAY! Thank you for such a quick response. Now I know what the suede patch might look like after it has been in the wash!

Not related exactly, but yesterday I saw one of those fake BCA copies in black and the seller described it as a melanoma awareness fob! It's been removed already.

Jeez!

I really hate hate HATE those fake BCA charms of ANY kind! We've seen so many people who bought the fakes to give to a friend or relative who's a breast cancer survivor, and it really burns me with the fire of a thousand suns that not only are these people who have already gone through hell getting a cheap ripoff where NONE of the money spent on them goes to BC research, but the damn P'sOS are probably loaded with poisons too!

My Old Testament sense of justice, as my DH calls it, hopes and prays that anyone who knowingly makes, distributes or sells any of these disgusting fakes suffers a punishment that suits the crime. I normally wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, but some people truly deserve to have Kharma smack them in the face with a baseball bat.

JMO.

I am so upset! He's a U.S. Marine and works hard for his money and thought he had bought me a really nice present. Makes me want to cry that someone would take advantage of him like that.

Crooks and thieves have no consciences. Never forget that basic fact.

And please thank your brother from us for his service, it's deeply appreciated.

for the record, the seller who had the listing for the fake BCA fob described as melanoma awareness was theprimheart. Feel free to watch for it to be possibly relisted.

Did he happen to purchase it from an online site where it can be reported? How was it paid for?

In in the phone with him now. He is in SC on base. Ok he says he bought it from a lady on an app called tophat? He said he on his order it has report item option and he wrote them an email. He feels bad :( I told him we all get fooled at some point and it was most define to the thought that counts. I have a toddler and don't want her touching it so I threw it out.
