Oh dear, this little treasure seems to have been missed in the melay of posts. I would really appreciate your advice and any information about this little bag.

Found this lovely leather clutch in a charity shop, leather is really good quality but needing some TLC, I paid £15 on the basis of the leather quality, but I'm not sure it's authentic - any help welcome.

It's black leather and is 10" x 6" x 1.5" and came with some paper insert in a little bag.View attachment 5805401View attachment 5805402View attachment 5805403View attachment 5805404View attachment 5805405

Genuine, and so is all the paper work. It was called an Envelope Clutch, style 9810 and was introduced in mid-1988. Since there are no date codes in the serial number it's almost impossible to determine when that particular example was made but the late 1980s is most likely.

Nice find!

Wow thanks for all the information, I have cleaned and treated the leather and it looks even better. Suspect it is going to be my go to clutch.

Sorry, it's fake. The plant code isn't valid for the year shown in the serial number. All *9G- prefixes found so far have been either fake or questionable. There may also be a problem with the back of the turnlock but we would need a closer and clearer photo to be sure. There's a good chance that the turnlock back will have indentations for the prongs.

ETA- there are some very good photos of a genuine Regina that was posted here a few months ago. The differences in the construction of the top handle in both bagts is especially noticeable.

ETAA - here's a good photo of the details of the top of the genuine Regina:

Do you mean this one? Post 82,995

"Sorry, the "Willis" is fake."

I've noticed that when there are so many photos sucking up bandwidth on a page of posts, trying to load the page without having it jump around is an exercise in frustration.

I think the only one I missed was the last one (too new for me), and I told her what else we
needed to see.

ETA - I don't think she posted a photo of the white tag from inside though.
Yes, thank you! The duffle does not have a white tag inside- only the brown "made in vietnam" tag. Does that automatically signify a fake?

They're often deeply buried inside the large inner pocket, usually along the bottom seam. Sometimes it helps to carefully run your finger along that seam, or to turn the pocket inside out if it's not sewn down. Check the other inside pockets too.

It's NOT a "Penny", that name as far as we can determine from Coach's printed media was never used for any vintage (20 years old or older) Coach bag. It's called a Pocket Purse and always has been since it was introduced in 1986, and it's genuine. This particular example was made in 1997. Please don't ever expect sellers to always get names, dates or Coach history right, bad information and incorrect names can spread very quickly among buyers and sellers, like the unproven name "Penny" which we've probably seen used in error for at least a dozen different styles.

Thanks for the info!

Hello; this is my first time getting an authentication so I hope I'm doing it right?? So here goes!

Item:

Bonnie Cashin for Coach Bag Kiss Lock Tote Rare Salmon Pink Leather Vintage 1960s Pre Creed

Listing number: Don't see one?
Seller and site where listed; - Monalisa Creations, ETSY

Comments: Seller states " missing metal Coach tag". Has several beautiful 1960s "Bonnie Cashin for Coach" bags presently listed and sold, that look like brand new? Do you think she may be refurbishing them? She points out a few minor flaws, but they are mostly from use, like little pen marks and such, not from aging? Please be sure to check the other listings as well. They are quite the eye candy. I just hope they're not too good to be true? She seems to specialize in this particular line "Bonnie Cashin for Coach".

I'd love to purchase this, but my concern is I am aware of some recent counterfeiters that have been reproducing vintage Gucci bags for the last several years, that are identical to the 1980s Gucci bags, and the only thing that gives them away at times, is their condition, looking brand new with no signs of aging at all. The labels, serial numbers and even the materials are identical to the Genuine old style Gucci markings right down to the minor details on the shield symbol and it's pretty scary how good they are! So I'm wondering if they may be doing the same with vintage Coach now as well?? These would be so super easy to copy without any creeds, right?
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this bag. Thank you

Is this the same seller?
Saw it on ebay too

Yes, MONALISAxCREATIONS on Etsy and monalisa_creations on Ebay are the same person. '

Many sellers list on multiple sites.
