To be honest, I'm uncomfortable recommending and authenticating items from Japanese sellers, especially when it comes to new sellers with recent styles of items. (Established Japanese sellers of vintage bag have also become notorious for having fake vintage bags, MANY of them Korean fakes.)

toste_1643 has a dreadful 89% feedback score although the negs aren't for fake items but do show a seller's listings on which I would have hit the "back" button!

Regarding this listing and several of his/her other listings, although described as "new with tags," none of the tags are shown and none of the listings show enough detailed pictures to accurately assess authenticity.

The newer style fakes from within the last 5 years or so coming from Japanese sellers are extremely close and often, one of the most definitive tools would be pictures of the props that are included. Tags, receipts, dust bags, etc. are often very telling.

In a lot of cases, they blur the pictures just enough that details aren't clear enough to read, tags and receipts photoshopped to obliterate obvious errors, or pictures of definitive elements and items are not shown. Sometimes they show genuine props from authentic items to fool buyers.

In fact, I believe everyone should read this thread I began over 3.5 years ago. Not much has changed since I posted that thread other than that there are way more sellers of fakes, way more newer styles that are being peddled and I can only recommend being extremely cautious when buying from sellers in Japan.

Bottom line, the pictures, lack of clear and definitive pictures in the listing, poor seller history and other details make me uncomfortable about the bag. I cannot say one way or the other if it's genuine.

Sorry.

ETA: Although we don't use hangtags by themselves to verify authenticity of a bag, a hangtag can raise red flags in a listing that may be questionable. In this case, you mentioned the hangtag and I'll say that the double stamping is bothersome.

Please open a NAD (not as described) case against the seller. The bag is fake. (And that the bag is fake shows how close those Japanese sellers' fakes are! A minor detail such as the back of the snap closure is definitive proof.)

Compare:

ETA: This is a Korean fake listed by toste_1643:

Thanks for the thorough response! I’m going to return it, just too many questions for my level of comfort.
