This is fake, right? Asking for a friend who just found this at a consignment store. I don't believe it is authentic, but get confused these days, since i heard Coach stopped using serial numbers? Is that true? Do they at least use a date code anymore? The stitching on this creed is horrible. I'll be shocked if this is authentic.

Here's a couple more. This is all the pics she sent me. This Horse and Carriage really looks wonky! lol! Please verify. Thank you

VERY fake - fake pattern and colors, fake emblem, fake hardware. We don't even need to see the creed on that one. But the fact that there's no serial number on an "older" creed patch (a problem depending on the size of the bag) is a red flag. The REALLY bad stitching is a major problem too.

Newer styles made after mid-2014 don't have serial numbers, and it IS a major problem. But those bags will have newer style creed patches, unless Coach really did them on the cheap and just stamped the pocket without any patch at all.

A consignment store has the same LEGAL responsibility as any other seller to be sure the items they're selling are genuine. Your friend needs to take it back and insist on a full refund, and the store needs to hand it back to the consignor and tell them "No thanks", and to make sure they DON'T accept any more consignments from that person. It's such an obvious fake that I'd be very leery about any other "designer" items that store is selling.

It's a little late to be asking about this bag since I already bought it but I am wondering if this bag is fake. The thing that bothers me the most is how lightly the creed is stamped. Is this something that just occasionally happens depending on where the bag was made? The only part that is really legible when you see the bag in person is the number (M4C-9870) and even that is pretty shallowly stamped.

The other thing that bugs me is that the binding on the edge on the bottom of the bag is stitched crooked where it ends. It is sort of weird, the rest of the bag looks really nice and then it is noticeably crooked on the bottom. I don't know, if it is fake it is a pretty nicely made one. I'm just trying to decide what sort of feedback to leave for the seller at this point.

The bag looks fine. The creed looks like it should. It was stitched by hand so it is possible to have some sloppy stitching. It is also possible that the stitching came out and it was repaired sloppily. It is unfortunate there wasn't a picture of the crooked stitching but understandable since Etsy only allows 5 pictures. It isn't from the 80s as the listing says; it was made in 1994.

I might have been overthinking it. The serial number font seemed slightly off to me but now that I look at it closer, I think it was just the angle. I didn't mean to cast doubt on the seller.
