Would really appreciate help authenticating this bag. To my novice eye it looks good but I defer to those more knowledgeable than I. This is my first time posting a request from a listing so my apologies if I haven‘t gotten it quite right. Thank you!

You don't want that bag!

It's fake.

ETA: It looks like laurak29 knows it's fake based on the first sentence in her description: "I’m not going to say this is actually coach, because i’m not sure."

And the rest of the description goes on to tell why she thinks it's fake.

Good evening!

I’m hoping you can help with an authentication. I was in a thrift store at closing time and noticed 2 bags. I quickly snapped some photos before they pushed me out the door.

I’ve already written one off as fake after referencing the fake number post so thanx for that!

But I’m holding out hope that this other bag is good. Unfortunately my pics are crap. Feel free to ignore this whole post if I’m wasting your time:

I believe it’s a Patricia Legacy flap? With a serial number instead of a model number?

Sorry - I was not able to get a measurement. The size seeemed right.

Thx in advance!!

Thank you! See, always better to ask the experts! I saw that she said she wasn’t sure it was authentic but thought I would double check to see. I appreciate the quick reply. I’m going to messaged and let her know she may want to change the wording in her post. Thanks again!

Hello, all - I’d appreciate an opinion on this bag I bought without first doing extensive research on eBay. (See photo attachments). I have not payed for it yet.
Platform: eBay
Seller: alemode8 (I looked her up here and found she has sold a couple of fakes but also genuine bags - her approval rating is 100% and she has been selling vintage bags for a long time.)
Product: Worth bag in “Light Teal”
Serial #: FC6-4143
Listing #: 144723514757

Comments:
Since the auction is over I don’t think you can see the listing.

I see that it was a Coach outlet bag and that made me feel it was very unlikely to be a fake because I wouldn’t think a counterfeiter would put an outlet stamp on the creed. But I started worrying about the color. I did a search on Wayback and found photos and colors of the 1997 Worth bag, and Teal was not a color. Wayback does not have 1996 web pages for Coach. After more searching, I found a YouTube video with info and photos from the 1996 holiday season Coach catalog. At least in that 1996 catalog, the light teal color leather was not included. It occurs to me that it might have been included in an early ‘96 catalog for spring and summer styles.

Is it a fake?

FYI, it's illegal to sell fakes PERIOD. Claims not to know whether authentic, claims of items being gifts or even an admission of an item being fake don't make it okay to sell.

Counterfeit items are illegal and cannot legally be sold anywhere.

The link still works:

The bag is authentic, made in 1996.

Note: We've seen fakes with outlet bullets so that's not necessarily proof of authenticity.
