Thank you for that. I believe that’s it! This this photo come from the catalogues thread? Do you know what year it is? I think it’s an earlier version of the School Bag. I have one and it’s much different and bigger than this. Lots of differences.
I also forgot I have this photo. Now I want to find the strap and of course it’s hangtag

So apparently there were 2 versions of the School Bag Clutch, 9390 and 9515, with and without a dog-leash clip strap that attached to the top handle mounts. Coach used 2 different style numbers because a change in important construction details required a new style number.

The #9695 School Bag handbag is a different and probably more recent style since it was still in the 1984 catalogs - different details and construction. There may have been an earlier version of that too, maybe 9630. I think the clutch styles may have eventually developed into the School Bag and dropped the "Clutch" description over the years.

I feel a headache coming on ...

Some of that is probably wrong, but we may never know. The catalog trail is as cold as a politician's heart.

Thank you for posting this - I believe this is the one I have purchased. I also have a 9565 in burgundy which is on my restoration pile.

The serial number codes indicate that this one was made in 2011, so it's only 11 years old. Maybe it's a replacement for an older one? It's genuine but it was made for the Factory Stores and names are hard to find.

Signature C fabric bags weren't even introduced until right around 2000.
Weird, interesting. It’s for sure a hand-me-down (at least the original) and it’s been floating in our family for 20+ years. However it didn’t reach my hands until recently- my mom passed it to my sister-in-law, who passed it to me.

Nevertheless it’s good to know it’s genuine! Thank you so much I appreciate it :) it’s been hard to find this exact bag in my hunt.

Both bags are authentic. The black one is a Chelsea Ashlyn and the silver one is a Campbell Belle. Both were made for outlets. I don't see any problems with the valet keychain. It was sold separately. No problems with the hangtags either.
