Hello authenticators,

What’s the verdict on this item? #5130

Please also include seller ID as we want to be sure we're evaluating the correct item. SOmetimes links don't bring us directly to the listing.

BeckwithBlack

The bag is fine, made in 2001.

Apologies; seller is BeckwithBlack in case anyone else want to reference the link.

Thanks so much! I impulsively purchased this item and upon closer consideration I was a little nervous. While I know many authentic items were made in China I don’t own any myself until now :)

one of my “gotta have it” buys. When i received it, it’s navy blue with what looks like black trim. did they make them in that color combo? Any clue to the name of this cute one?

It's authentic, but not a Bonnie Cashin nor a dinky. It's a shoulder purse #9385. The first catalog mention I have of this style is mid 80s so it probably not 70s.

It probably wasn't made two tone by design. That is accidental because the leather for the trim took the dye differently than the other leather.

It is very difficult to tell vintage navy from black. It will probably darken when you rehab. The best way to tell the color is to compare the inside color with a vintage bag you know is black.

Or just call it 'Blavy'

Here's another thrift store find yesterday. No creed, no white label. Looks beautiful to me. (Quick story, an employee at the store trundled out a table thing full of additional new items to put out on the selling racks...as she stepped away I ransacked it and found this one and grabbed it! :) There was another coach, a red suede beautiful but they had cranked the price wayyyy up.) Please and thank you for an authentication opinion. This is a NICE bag.

It's fine.

I still think that there might be tags hiding way down inside the open pocket! (Seriously, the label is hard to find and harder to photograph even when you know it's there.) The perforated one (from last night) might also have a difficult-to-find one.

voilà!!!wonderful to know- how do i find a catalog of vintage bags?

Vintage Coach Catalogs

You can sometimes find sellers selling vintage catalog scans on a thumb drive or USB or even a dvd or other data storage medium, but don't waste your money. The scans posted here are from the same original source, and also includes others NOT on those thumb drives that were posted here by members who own the paper catalogs. We do not sell them, and we disclose right in that thread that Coach is still the legal owner of the copyrights and trademarks included in the scans posted here, and we have no connection to, and make NO profit from, any sales by any other parties. We don't even require that anyone join tPF to see the scans posted here, they are a free service by tPF and available to everyone. All we require is that they be used legally.

And just a word to the wise, or to the not-so-wise - SELLING copies of Coach's catalogs or anything that includes Coach's trademarked or copyright graphics or text without Coach's express permission, preferably in writing, is a violation of US and International copyright and trademark protection laws. Anyone doing so is playing with fire.

To clarify, it's COPIES that can't be sold, whether those copies are photocopied or scanned to USBs.

Selling the actual original catalog is fine.
