The serial number prefix used in this purse, 'D2J-' is ALWAYS fake when used with a "made in the United States" creed stamp and has been found in many counterfeits over the years. The J plant in 2002 which is the year code in the fake D2J- prefix (for April 2002 J plant) was ONLY used for a plant in China since 1998. The creed stamp claims this fake was made in the USA in 2002.

It's authentic. The staining on the inside flap might improve. It depends on what made it. I think it looks like there were ink marks someone was trying to clean off and probably used alcohol or acetone which removed some of the leather color. The outer rings might improve but the lightness most likely won't improve.
