Hello.
Hope I am doing this right. First time here.

Could someone please help authenticate this plaid COACH backpack for me?
I am having my doubts, and do not know very much about these bags.

Listed (in Japan) as a "COACH plaid / check backpack Mens and Ladies".

Welcome.

I've looked at the listing and although I see some paperwork, it doesn't show the tag with the price and bar code info. Was that included?

If so, I'd like to see that.

I recommend extreme caution in buying Coach from Japanese websites. We've been seeing very closely faked items so all details and sellers should be checked.

So far, I don't see any problems with the backpack.

I am new to this and can’t seem to find where Imrequest annauthentication. Can you show or tell me where this is on the site. I did start at page 1 ofnthenCoach thread, but am not Seeing how to find an authenticator page to make mynrequest
You're in the right place.

Just make a post (as you did above) and post the information needed as shown in the post you quoted and the post at the top of every page of this thread.

I feel like I am bugging you guys a lot lately!

Would you please authenticate this. It is on Poshmark Canada, here is the current listing:
Seller: dlsaker

It is a re-posh. The original seller is here, where there is a bit more description:

Seller snowpea123

She listed the serial number as B6D 9085

Here is an up-close of the creed:

It has been mentioned in both listings that it has an unspecified "vintage smell". If it is authentic, I wonder how easy it would be to dunk and rehab. I worry that doing so might fade the (already faded) creed patch even more.

Thanks in advance!!

What I can see looks genuine. Obviously we can't smell what you're smelling. I just hope it doesn't smell like mold or mildew.

@whateve may be able to answer your rehab questions, she has a vast amount of experience in that field.

VERY bad fake!

Normally we'd need many more and better photos if we were confirming that it was actually authentic but there are so many invalid details that in this case more photos aren't necessary.

That "COLLECTION" paper tag isn't completely visible but the missing word in front of "collection" probably isn't valid for that style or period. I'm seeing what looks like the last part of the word "Suede" just below it on that tag, and the entire word "suede"a bit lower - WHERE'S THE SUEDE? "Suede Collection" tags have been used on hundreds of fakes that don't have even an inch of suede on them. The brown and white folding booklet-type tag is also fake.

The style itself is fake.

Coach doesn't wrap their bag handles in clear plastic.

The hardware starting with the inside pocket zipper pull is fake and a design never used by Coach.

Genuine Coaches should NEVER have a Signature C or logo lining when the outside pattern is primariiy Cs or any kind of logo pattern.

The serial number stamped on the patch is totally fake and the entire first half that includes all the plant and date codes is missing.

That counterfeit is illegal to sell anywhere in the US and should never ever be donated either. Your MIL bought a fake.

The bag is a very closely faked style but so far, although I don't see any obvious problems, I'd like to see a picture of the front and back of the bag turned inside out. (It's supposed to be reversible.)

Also, please post a picture of the top opening clipped together but propped open. This is what I'm talking about:

Hello.
Thank you for the quick reply…and Japan warning!

And thank you all for providing such a thorough and helpful site! Great resource and community.

I shouldn’t be surprised as Japan has proven so good at copying cameras, cars and guitars over the years.

I‘m concerned about this backpack because:

I could not find the exact model anywhere online, just this one. Seems strange.
Not sure if that metal COACH tag on bottom of black pouch is correct.
Numbering on creed.

No paperwork seems available. Was bought used.

Are photos of any small inside tags, embossed tags on zippers, etc., helpful?

I need to decide to pay or cancel within 3 days.

If authentic, I’d like to buy it.
If likely fake, absolutely not.

Big Thanks again for your help.
Any guidance as to what I should do is appreciated.

Mitch

AUTHENTICATE This COACH

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread.

Note: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

Please follow the following rules:

  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller:
    Link:
    Comments:

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

  • Please note that comments on price and condition are NOT permitted.
  • Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests should be posted in this thread.

Hello and good morning!

My name is Ray and I'm an Ebay reseller, store name CRaved Merch. I acquired this bag during a local auction, but wanted to confirm its authenticity before I sell it as real. It looks to be almost brand new, here's the pics. I really appreciate any help with this, as I'm in the early learning stages of the Coach bag world! Feel free to contact me if you need anything else and THANKS in advance!!

Ray

Good morning valued authenticators,

I am searching for a 9965, but I have concerns about the creed's country code and crooked placement. Could you please have a look? Many thanks for all you do! :hugs:

Ebay Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1550691531...pid=5338596370&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1

Seller: jsi07

Listing number: 155069153186

FAKE.

Indentations on the back of the turnlock, and an invalid plant code. The "S" plant code was ONLY used in travel and business bags from China before 2000, and in handbags also from China starting in about 2001. It was never used in any US-made Coach items.

And it's been relisted by jsi07, still fake!
