Thank you and be safe!

I believe the case listed by @Busykitty is authentic. As I recall, there were other problems with your bag. The stitching is sloppy. The logo wasn't in the right location and the weave of the fabric on yours seemed looser than it should be. It is really hard for us to tell when we can't feel the fabric. If you had another one you knew was authentic, you could compare the fabric. I'm not saying it isn't authentic; I just don't feel comfortable saying that it is.
Thanks for taking another look. I still think the bag is authentic. :) :) It does have a different construction, with a middle seam on the bottom.

That's a hard no in my book.

In my experience, it seems to depend on a lot of factors. The selling location, the level of certainty you express, if they have had the item “authenticated,” if you can provide photos of known authentic bags, if the flaws you point out can be easily Googled, and potentially who is answering emails that day. I’ve contacted them about obvious fakes (like NT- or Korea bags), and some locations seem like they were just hoping no one noticed, and some DGAF. But if they have an Entrupy, Better-Than-Second Authentication, or similar COA, they usually tell you to F-off, politely.

I apologize for purposely skipping your requests but please know it's not personal.

I strongly dislike Poshmark, the way they do business, the site's lack of protection for both buyers and sellers and because of Poshmark's lack of integrity and safety, many sellers who've been kicked of other sites go to PM because they know they can get away with selling fakes and doing other fraudulent activities because they know PM rarely takes action against them.

While I know there are some honest buyers and sellers there, they (unfortunately) pay for the misdeeds of the dishonest ones.

Personally, I'd prefer buyers and sellers choose any other e-commerce site over Poshmark but obviously, I don't control the habits of others.

I will make an exception to my own rule and comment on this bag.

I believe the bag is authentic.

Thank you so much @BeenBurned for your explanation and your time! I feel reassured now as I was looking for this bag since long time ago! Now I will be very careful on Poshmark !:amuse:

I agree, and that is what crisps my chicken. It's us, and the other buyers who are repeatedly screwed over. GW shouldn't get a pass because they are a nonprofit. Nor should they get a pass because they pass off the responsibility to another party. And you have an amazing collection (and I',m super envious), you shouldn't have to worry about the product you buy. Even if you don't buy from GW, it puts the product back into the downstream secondary market.

Most employees of GW and other thrift stores don't believe you when you tell them it is illegal to sell fakes, even if you don't know it is fake.

They incorrectly believe that if they claim, "we aren't selling as (insert brand name)" or "we aren't selling as authentic," they can do what they want. They also incorrectly believe that if items are donated to them, they're exempt from abiding by law.

For the last month or so, I've been seeing a fake Dooney at a local Saver's for $199.99!! Clearly, they ARE selling as authentic and I've told the on-duty manager that's it's fake. It remains zip-tied to a rack awaiting the victim who will purchase it.

Authentic?

The reason I'm asking. We had an extended discussion months ago about a chunky case bag I got from a friend. She worked at a department store when she was younger which sold Coach bags, and she bought it there and had owned it for 30+ years before she gave it to me. I asked for authentication here and no one felt comfortable authenticating. One reason: the lining ticking material and how it was designed and stitched. Well, the bag for sale above has identical stitching to my bag. I'll see if I can find a link to our prior discussion.

@ConnieinSeattle

I'm not sure you're looking for another opinion but I agree with @whateve that the case from Ebay listed by busykittyfinds is authentic and the case posted in your previous request here was probably not authentic. (Personally, I feel more comfortable in saying it's fake than Whateve does.)

If you're comfortable using it for your own needs, there's nothing wrong with that. But I would never feel comfortable selling it myself nor would I recommend another seller risk their reputation by trying to sell it. YMMV.

@DoraT94 - Here is Etsy's phone contact information. You should call them and point them to the newest listing. (You might also want to show them the original listing from which ThingsAnay stole the pictures.) They should be able to figure out that there's no way the scammer could still have a bag in her possession to resell if she shipped it to "you" at a Mexican address and it was supposedly delivered. Have them also look at your own address to see that you don't have an address in Mexico so she clearly didn't ship it to you!

If necessary, escalate to a supervisor and go up the food chain until you get someone who understands what's going on!

Etsy Customer Service
Our telephone number is (718) 855-7955. Our website address is www.etsy.com.

I'll repeat @Hyacinth's advice. DO NOT BUY FROM ThingsAnay on Etsy!
Thank you. Will do.

Yes, they usually claim that their Legal Department says that since they're a non-profit, it's OK for them to sell fakes.

They must have found those lawyers in the One Dollar Bargain Bin, All Sales Final.
