Dear Authenticators! Could you help me solve my problem?)

Item: poppy shoulder bag 19426
Seller: lilthriftygirl9
Site: poshmark
Link: https://poshmark.com/listing/Coach-...-Fabric-Shoulder-Bag-6234d30ca4de41ef42934cf3

Comment: I found a very pretty one from Poppy collection, but after researching i understood that this style number is only present in recent listings, and I cannot find earlier mentions of this very style. It says Daisy, but I found some other style from poppy called Daisy on this forum. And those posts were from 2010-s, so no doubt there. Please help me with this dilemma. Thank you in advance!
Please keep these facts in mind:

1- sellers can never be depended on to know the exact names of every style they sell unless they still have the original price tag or receipt

and

2- Coach re-uses style and "family" names over and over again, there have been at least 3 lines using the description "Daisy". Don't tie styles together based on names, you'll be misled at least some of the time.

The print is called the Daisy Pop C print, style number 19426 and the bag is genuine and was made in April 2012 for the Factory (Outlet) stores. I can't find any name for the type of bag shape Coach called it. Items made just for the outlet often had no record saved on Coach's main website.
As @Hyacinth pointed out, you can't always depend on sellers knowing correct names or style numbers of their items but another thing you can't depend on is trusting that a seller is honorable just because one item is authentic.

Such is case with lilthriftygirl9.

She has this fake:

and for this one, the poor buyer paid $100.

sold:

I gave up after this one. I haven't even looked at more listings so although I expect more fakes, I didn't search any further.

Beware of lilthriftygirl9 on Poshmark.

Dear Authenticators, Can I have this authenticated? I just bought this and it was too good a deal to pass after doing some negotiation.

Please could you authenticate this bag. Thank you so much.

Item: daypack
Listing number: 403568722360
Seller and site where listed Olika58 and on eBay

Comments: there's no picture of the creed.
Sorry, it's just not possible to make a solid authentication without a creed and serial photo, Coaches are too highly faked and there aren't any provable Coach details in the photos.

We never recommend buying any "Coach" without a photo of the creed and serial when that style is supposed to have one. If you're seriously interested in the backpack you can ask the seller to send clear large photos of those details.
Thank you for your reply and expertise. If I'm honest I didn't go for this bag. And automatically dismissed it for being fake initially because of the details at the end of the drawstring. Your reply has taught me not to assume and always check with you all. I might have really missed out

While I agree that it's not possible to make a SOLID AUTHENTICATION on the listing, I believe that the bag is fake.

There are differences between my 9960 daypack and the one in the listing from olika58 (5).

1. As you pointed out, the ends of the drawstrings aren't supposed to be knotted.
2. The leather portion between zipper pocket and the raw leather of the top flap is larger than it should be.
3. The holes through which the drawstring feeds are too high up above the zippered pocket and the top of the leather part. On the bag in question, it's centered between the zipper and the flap. THe drawstring should be just above the zipper.
4. The front flap appears to be squarer than it should be. See how it's more rounded on the comp below.

My opinion is that you should NOT buy that bag. Other opinions are welcome.

Hyacinth I know better.. can’t believe I didn’t follow the format. Wasn’t thinking when I posted.
Item: Coach Darcy
Site: Marketplace
Listing Number: n/a
Seller: Brent Scott picture of seller listed. Can’t get copy the link but included a picture
Note: I think it’s a Darcy drawstring. I would like to know the year it was made. I mistook it for a different bag until I received it.
Thank you for any information

No problem. Even when someone's been here at tPF along time, it still gets confusing, every Authenticate thread has different rules.

The bag is from the Sheridan line and it's genuine. It IS a style 4229 Darcey Drawstring and was made in 1994.

Hi all, I just purchased a bag off ebay. Only after I bought it did I become curious in the process of authenticating it, and while looking up other examples of the creed found my way here.

The purse I bought is a black Equestrian drawstring 9804.
I bought it from ebay from user ripken82

From googling it I found a comment from a user here saying that the H7D-9804 purses tend to be real, but I also read that the coach creed stamp should never be hard to read. I saw other purses with a similar faint stamp with H7D, but I also saw convincing examples with a much clearer deeper stamp that showed extra indentations around the serial number, and my gut is telling me those ones are the authentic ones. Anyways, it's been fun looking through this mega thread, so I thought I would put forth my own request out of curiosity. Thanks for all you guys do!

Every stamp is hand-stamped, or used to be. Different plants have different stamps, different plant employees stamp with different pressure, older stamps lose some sharpness over time, different leathers take stampings lighter or deeper because different leathers may not be the same softness or thickness, and even giving a bag a bath can change the way a stamp looks, some are almost unreadable after one or two baths because the leather has probably swollen from the water.

Stamps in relatively unused or never-washed bags should be clear and legible but if an owner is in and out of the bag a lot or wears a lot of jewelry on his or her hands, that can wear down a stamping too. The stamping depth is never proof of a fake although stamps in some fake "vintage" bags are sometimes less deep. It's the stamping details like fonts, formatting and codes that prove a bag is fake, not the depth of the stamp. An almost-unreadable stamp indicates that the rest of the bag needs to be looked at more carefully but it's almost never an indication of a fake by itself. It's the permanent details of the stampings themselves that are important for authentication.

And yes, almost every H7D- prefix in that style seems to have a very shallow stamp, that could be a result of the leather used for the inside pocket. There are no visible red flags in the one you bought and it matches other genuine 9804s in my files.

Thank you very much for your quick reply! All the help here is greatly appreciated.
Do you happen to know what the bag styles are?

It's very hard to ID bags with all-number serial numbers without full measurements and a full set of photos - front, back showing whether or not it has a back pocket, under the flap showing any pocket, the base showing the vertical seams if any, and one side showing how the strap is attached and the inside showing the inside pocket details.

When you receive them you can take photos and measurements and post them in the ID This Coach thread in the main Coach forum.

Ah that's super interesting! Based off the stamp alone I wasn't hopeful because so many of the other examples I saw were so crisp, but it makes sense that could lessen over time/with wear. The authentication process is fascinating. I was originally happy with my purchase based off the design alone, but once I got curious and read up on the quality of genuine coach bags I was excited to potentially get my hands on one of my own. Thanks for the good news!
