There is a style 4849, which is very similar but the picture I have of the inside looks like this:View attachment 5339972

So it could be the same style number. Maybe they changed the design. I think that extra piece of leather keeps the coins from spilling out.

ETA: I see from Hyacinth's catalog picture that they did make it without the extra piece of leather.
Thank you whateve! I appreciate your help. Interesting about the extra leather piece they eliminated.

The font used in the serial number is too thick, and especially the "N" in No. It;s very different from the next closest B plant serial number that seems genuine and is also 8 months later. I'd like to see the back of the turnlock plate, the piece that the 4 prongs are clamped to, but it just doesn't fit the other known examples of a bag from that plant and year.
here it is :)

Thank you so much!
Honestly, you are the one who guides me into the coach's world. I read the coach catalogs you posted every day since I found this forum.

For many of us it seems like the vintage Coach catalog scans have replaced the classic paper Sears Christmas catalogs of our youth, back in the days when Radio was still in it's infancy ;). We'd search through that 5-pound monster a dozen times, circling the item names of the toys we wanted and folding over the corners of the pages where they were shown so our parents could find them easier.

Just one example:

Lots more

It's probably a Good Thing that you can't dog-ear the pages of an electronic catalog. :giggle:

here it is

Thank you. Sometimes the fakes will have indentations for the prongs, but not on this one.

If the bag is usable, just keep using it, but please don't sell it or donate it. If there are very young girls in the family and they like to play Dress Up (do little girls still do that?) you might let them use it, although that long strap might be a safety concern. Try to write "FAKE" somewhere on the inside with a black Sharpie.

Thank you :) I’ll probably pass it on to my friends little girl! She would love it :) I’d never knowingly sell or even wear a fake bag so I’m so glad I asked! You all are amazing!!!! Thank you!!!!

I've never seen a physical Christmas catalog before! Just met them in the movies!
Thank you! Really appreciate this precious material and your generous help!
