Hello! I recently bought this vintage Coach Barclay tote at a thrift store and just want to make sure it’s authentic. All I know from the creed is that it’s from 1997. One thing I noticed about the zipper closure is that the zipper doesn’t finish all the way to the end as seen in one of my pictures.

It's genuine, and as you said was made in 1997

We need to know if this is being sold on the internet, and if so, the link to the selling page. Or if you have owned it for a while, when and where you bought it. Please always read the READ ME post at the top of each page and include the information we need. It's especially important because I don't think that bag is a genuine Coach.

This one is really bugging me. I found it when cleaning my aunt's closet after she moved to special care. She owned a bunch of coach purses but we think this one is fake (weird number). No idea when it was purchased.

I’m so sorry, I forgot  it’s just a thrift store finds:smile: if it’s not authentic I will toss it in the trash where fakes belong!

The font used in the serial number is too thick, and especially the "N" in No. It;s very different from the next closest B plant serial number that seems genuine and is also 8 months later. I'd like to see the back of the turnlock plate, the piece that the 4 prongs are clamped to, but it just doesn't fit the other known examples of a bag from that plant and year.

There's nothing wrong with the number, it was made for the Factory Outlets in 2010. I don't know the name but there aren't very good records of Factory Stores items from before their Coach Outlet webpages went public. It's from the Hamptons Signature line but that's all I can offer. I don't see anything that would make me think it's fake.

Thank you whateve. I just found a style 4849 while browsing that looks similar, so could that be what this one is? If so, is it a new(er) or older (vintage) style?
There is a style 4849, which is very similar but the picture I have of the inside looks like this:4849 international coin case.jpeg

So it could be the same style number. Maybe they changed the design. I think that extra piece of leather keeps the coins from spilling out.

ETA: I see from Hyacinth's catalog picture that they did make it without the extra piece of leather.
