I've been getting great results from reporting listings on Tradesy; better than ebay lately. I wish I had saved copies of all the fakes of December's Child that were removed after I reported them. (So I could show them to her.) I wonder if Tradesy will ever NARU a member for reported fakes. I know they will if a fake is returned. I also wonder what kind of message, if any, they send to the seller if a listing of theirs is removed.
I'd love to see the message too.

I remember when you posted her listings that there were other fakes and at the time, I checked ebay. I still suspect she didn't list those fakes on ebay for a reason.

I tried to find caches of some of her old/removed listings but wasn't successful.

I waited hours after she'd posted, hoping and assuming that she would have ended her listing. When it didn't happen, I reported (once I realized it might work).

Pardon my nosiness, but didn't she say she only removed the fakes from Tradesy after selling them on her other (unnamed) eBay accounts? Do any of the removed Tradesy fakes show up as sold on eBay?

Yes, she did. I don't remember any of the fakes I reported but at the time I compared the two accounts on May 20, everything that was on Tradesy was on that one ebay account except for the fakes. So I guess it is possible she had another ebay account just to sell fakes! However, I really doubt she would have been able to sell all those fakes on ebay without someone reporting them.

No, she claimed not to sell fakes.

Her ebay account doesn't show any of the fakes either current or completed and I was unable to find any caches of the fakes in a google search.

As for her ebay ID, it's mentioned in the following post as well as my post to which Hyacinth responded.

As for that fake daisy keychain, she posted on the ebay forum early this morning claiming never to have (knowingly) listed or sold fakes. Several days after I'd contacted her through Tradesy and at least 8 hours following her post on the Tradesy discussion, the listing was still up. since she didn't end it herself, I reported it as I suspect others did too. I has been removed by Tradesy.

She's coach*collector on ebay
She's December's Child on Tradesy.
The metal daisies are definitely fake, Coach never made that style AND all the Cs are wrong.

The Star would never have been a standalone charm even if it was genuine, it doesn't even look as though those are actual crystals. Either part of the base metal or maybe marcasites, but NOT the crystals Coach uses, see the keychain a few posts above yours for a real Coach star charm.

So Ebay seller " coach*collector " " coach collector " or " coachcollector " thinks it's ok to cheat and screw her customers on Tradesy, as long as she doesn't do it on Ebay??? A CROOK IS STILL A CROOK, NO MATTER WHERE THEY SET UP SHOP. I DON'T RECOMMEND BUYING FROM THIS SELLER AT ANY SITE UNDER ANY ID.

And the same holds for " December's Child " on Tradesy.

If they were keychains, they wouldn't have gotten by "some" members!

I was basing my question off of these statements from 2 previous posts:

I have never removed a "fake"... as I wouldn't have posted it in the first place, if I knew it was fake.
snip
I have not deleted ANY items at all, other than the few items that I actually sold on ebay and had listed in both places.
snip
By the way, I have multiple ebay accounts, and only one Tradesy account, so trying to make a comparison between only two is really pointless.

Hi I am wanting to authenticate an older coach that belonged to my mother. The feel, look, and stitching look to be authentic but the serial number is L2S-9521 and I can't find a another one online with that number anywhere.

The bag looks okay but I htink you may have copied the serial number incorrectly. Style 9521 isn't your bag's style.

When searching, use only the numbers to the right of the hyphen.

I'm not seeing L2S- as the prefix either, at least that's not what it looks like in the photo. It looks like L3S- which would fit with another Zoe in my files. The prefix numbers look similar if you allow for wear to the creed and differences in lightling. The one in my files is listed as an unknown pebbled leather small Zoe.

It may be an outlet style but the style number doesn't make any sense. I've found only the one pebbled leather Zoe style and while some of the details are similar, the top corners of the bag and how they're pieced together and stitched, and also the lack of any leather border around the outside pocket zipper, worry me a bit especially since the style number just doesn't fit. Here's the one Pebbled Leather Zoe style 4464 I've found, maybe there were others - the bag in the poster's photo looks bigger that the "Small" version so maybe the trim differences are due to them being different sizes. Or, as has happened before, maybe Coach just messed up the numbers.

ETA - Yep, "Messed up the numbers" looks like the answer. Posting 2 more pics of a larger pebbled Zoe that looks like the right details, style 9603. WE HAVE A WINNAH !!!! Pics 4 & 5, name still unknown but Pebbled Leather (Large?) Zoe is probably close, and we have a style number. Definitely genuine. :smile1:

And another ETA - we have a name too - Milbrook Zoe Hobo

On the ebay forum, there's a long thread regarding Tradesy. I'm not impressed with the site because I've had NO luck in getting a single fake removed. It was last October (2014) that I emailed them with a bunch of listings, detailed descriptions of why the items were fake and a bit about myself to prove my knowledge of the items. Not only did the listings never get removed but I didn't even get an automated reply receipt nor any type of acknowledgement from them.

After a fake Coach keychain was posted from a Tradesy seller (who also sells on ebay but she doesn't have fakes listed on ebay, the seller came to the thread defending herself.

Again, it was confirmed by both Whateve and me that her keychain is fake. Yet the listing remains although the poster assured us of her "honesty" and would remove it.

Seller on Tradesy: December's Child
Same seller on Ebay: coach*collector

Tradesy listing previously discussed and proven as fake and hasn't been removed yet -- not by the seller or by Tradesy:

Hiya!
I started buying on Tradesy about 2 months ago. Most of the Coach items are very over-priced so it's hard to find a good deal. (They give you a suggested selling price and some people are clueless so........
However I have found a few things here and there.

I've found their customer service to be excellent so far.
I got a fake Coach and returned it, got a pre-paid shiping label, full refund plus an extra $15 site credit as an apology.
Their rules state that anyone who sells a fake bag will have their selling privileges revoked,
however I did not see that happen. Maybe they give someone a couple of chances?

Honestly, I have seen very, very few fakes as compared to ebay, which is surprising. I don't know if it's because they remove them but I can't remember the last time I saw a fake Coach or Dooney listed. I usually look at the most recently added items and it's spotty, but still, if I were on ebay I would find a ton.
For the buyers who avail themselves of The Purse Forum ladies knowledge and help, it's safe to buy there because you can get it checked out here...Then you don't have to pay any shipping charges either way, and they do not question your returns, just print the label and back it goes.

I started selling some stuff there and was able to make some sales and it is so SIMPLE, and easy.
A real pleasure after ebay!
THey have a lot of work to do as far as improving, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will head in that direction.

Here is a link to some of their policies regarding counterfeit items, etc.

While on the surface, their policy is admirable, in the last year, I've seen many instances of
1. fakes being sold, disputes filed and buyers being told that their "team" determined they are indeed authentic
2. Authentic items being removed and honest sellers suspended because their "team" deemed the items as fake. These were items that were professionally authenticated by Etinceler and A4U.
3. There was a post somewhere claiming ***************** does their authenticating. Whether AF does all or just some, AF has proven itself to be sorely inexperienced in many brands and have made dozens of mistakes in just about every brand you can think of.

If Tradesy is going to use its own in-house or outside authenticators, they really need to get a handle on the level of expertise of those authenticators. Big money is at stake for both buyers and sellers and way too many false accusations, suspensions and counterfeit sales are taking place.

Thank you so much! I'm new here and Idk anything about purses yet lol. I've stared at that stupid serial number for 20 minutes trying to make sure it's correct and I'm still pretty sure its L2S-9521. If it was my mom who bought it, it would have been purchased at a Coach Outlet because that's the only Coach store near me.

I just want to comment on your statement about the numbers of fakes and my theory about it.

Of course there are far fewer fakes on Tradesy because there are far fewer listings. But I agree that the percentage of fakes on ebay vs. Tradesy is higher than the proportion of listings on ebay vs. Tradesy.

On Tradesy, a "Coach" search produced 45,714
On Ebay, a "Coach" search produced 74,959 listings

On Tradesy, a "Dooney" search produced 5,086 listings.
On Ebay, a "Dooney" search produced 16,743 listings.

I do agree it isn't as easy to find fakes on Tradesy as it is on ebay but I think that's because many of the sellers go there knowing that Tradesy tries to run a tight ship. And if it worked, if they had good authenticators and if they did a bit more research, they could be better.
