Hello Authenticators,
I'm new to this forum and to buying vintage Coach bags. I've been collecting vintage and antique jewelery for a while and decided to pull the trigger and buy my first vintage Coach bags. I have been doing several days of research but the information out there is mostly overwhelming and confusing so I'm glad I found you. Please help.

1. Item: Coach vintage briefcase computer bag
Seller: WhileAwaySomeTime on Etsy
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1005074512/coach-vintage-briefcase-computer-bag? show_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details

2. Item: Vintage brown leather shoulder bag
Seller: AtticVintageNY on Etsy
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/106178...how_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details

Comments: I'm more concerned about the second bag as I couldn't find anything like it online. I'm pretty sure the first one is authentic.

Many Thanks!!

The first one looks like a genuine Slim Satchel Standard, style number 9430 and probably from the early 1980s.

The second one is a Paris Bag Large, style 4105 from the Lightweight line and probably made in 1989, not in the 1970s as the seller says. Here's the 1989 Spring Preview catalog page, click on the thumbnail to enlarge:

Awesome, thank you! I thought it was a Nicholas, but this is even better

You had me going back to double check, but it's definitely a Drawstring Sac. The Nicholas doesn't have that horizontal row of stitching underneath the drawstring, and the drawstring has caps on the end. I'm not sure exactly when the Nicholas was made, but it's much more likely to have an alpha-numeric serial number with the production codes. It's shown as "NEW" in the 1994 Spring catalog so a few early examples might still have had the pre-1994 all-number 4x3 serial number. It's easy to confuse the two.

Here's the 9946 Nicholas:

Although the second bag was confirmed as authentic, I want to point out one of the reasons why we need sellers' IDs for requests. When the ID is posted, you and we are able to search that ID for comments or the histories of sellers.

In this case, I commented on the seller and a current fake just a few days ago in the following post.

And in addition to the bag I pointed out a few days ago, AtticVintageNY also has this fake:
