So what is my purpose here other than to make things interesting on a Saturday night?? Right??
It appears I may have the same pouch that authentification was requested on. Taking into account wiggle room for measurements, I think mine is in the ballpark. When this little pouch is on it's side, it does have the same detailing as the red in the photo Hyacinth posted. The zipper speaks for itself. My photos above were pre dunk. While I dunked it and was giving it a little toothbrush scrub from every which way, I saw the baby Cartouche on the bottom. I completely missed that initially. I will post that in a moment.
Aha, and yours has that awkward seam in the bottom too!

In my best Mister Spock voice - "Fascinating!"

So you may have a legitimate 7172. And it seems to have an odd inside pocket that Coach never thought to mention, and an inspection ticket that I very much doubt would have been used by any counterfeits manufacturer. :giggle: I'm guessing that there was no serial number in the case you asked about in 2017? I don't suppose that you still have it?

And we have one possibly genuine one that also has an outlet stamp AND that unusual horizontal seam above the base, and the one we looked at in July that was DEFINITELY fake with a bogus serial number probably copied from a fake Willis.

AND a genuine one from Pro Vintage Gear with a Costa Rica creed.

One thing about authenticating Coaches - just when you think nothing can surprise you, something does.

Thanks, Lake Effect! That clears up a LOT. :flowers:.

Side note - I would love to hear your impression of Leonard Nimoy. It's nice chatting with someone who is old enough to know him

I had it my possession when I posted in 2017 (I had thrifted it) and still do, if I understand that question is to me. Mine states made in the United States, but the Creed it quite faded. And check, there is no reg #. At least the stitching on the inside and alignment of the Creed is very good, nothing sloppy. I am wondering if they churned out a lot of these cosmetic cases, they ended up also using the tab that appears similar to what I see in pictures of many wallets. Maybe depending on what the plant had. I'm on my laptop, let me switch over to my iPad for a pic of the interior, as best I can.
eta, my pleasure to contribute to an open source of information :flowers: that strives to be accurate! I owe my collection to this thread!

Oh my...the saga continues. Interestingly, this sold listing actually has 7172 stamped on the creed, providing it is authentic.

He was a wonderful actor who brought to life one of the best characters in science fiction. There's just something about a purely logical mind that I find ... fascinating.
