The bag can't be authenticated as shown. There are 2 pictures that show parts of the creed but we need to see the whole creed and serial number as legible as possible.

Sorry about that. I asked the seller for the photo of the full creed and she just sent me. Please see attached.

Sorry for missing you. I saw the post and intended to get back to it after we returned from our long weekend away.

I hesitate to recommend buying (Coach) from Japan as we've been seeing a lot of fakes that are so very close that it's nearly impossible to authenticate without a lot of research and when items are determined to be fake, Japanese sellers are often difficult to deal with in disputes.

Had you asked about the bag prior to purchasing it, I wouldn't have recommended it because 3 of the 4 pictures are stolen stock images so there's not enough information to verify authenticity.

There are just 2 additional pictures posted of the bag in question and though they seem okay, I don't think there are enough pictures to confirm authenticity. (I don't see obvious problems.))

I'd appreciate a second set of eyes from @houseof999. She may request additional pictures.

If you do follow through on the purchase, please post pictures of all paperwork and any other issues you may find with the bag. The seller does have a 30-day return policy so there's some peace of mind there. And although the return policy states that buyer pays return shipping, that applies for "as described" returns. If SNAD (not as described), you have protection.

I will not purchase any of the bags listed. I really trust your guys opinion and I did have major concerns. After finding this forum and reading all the how to authenticate a coach bag pages, it made me put my credit card down haha .

My inner child was holding on to your replies and I’m glad I waited. Especially since I saw the Taffy Rogue 25.

*Sigh* Don't these sellers realize their laziness or stubbornness only hurts their own sales? And with 94% feedback with a neg for not showing accurate condition, the seller should consider learning what she needs to do to be a successful seller.

The bag is authentic.

I'm not comfortable with this one. There seem to be enough anomalies, especially with the creed, text and stitching that I wouldn't buy it.

Other opinions are welcome.
@houseof999 (If you feel comfortable commenting)
I'm not familiar with these styles. I compared with this listing
There seem to be differences in the serial number font. I'm not comfortable with the poor quality stitches on the Creed patch either.

Hello All,
I'm new to this forum and interested in receiving feedback on the authenticity of an Ebay vintage Coach British tan leather Kensignton crossbody bag by seller botchientrung, listing #114863113303. Approximate Measurements are as follows: 15.5" (L) x 12" (H) x 3.5 (W). The serial number 0514 323 is listed on the creed. However, there is wording of "Made in the United States" embossed on the creed that I am not familiar with being associated with authentic Coach bags. The Ebay link can be found at https://www.ebay.com/itm/114863113303

Thank you.
P.S. If I am not compliant with this post, please let me know as this is my first post seeking feedback.

It appears authentic. It was made in the early 1990s. The creed wording is correct for that time period.

Did you buy the bag on Poshmark from vietkingtravel?

Is botchientrung (on ebay) the same person as vietkingtravel (on Poshmark)?

And if they're the same person, why is the item that was sold to you within the last day on Poshmark currently listed and available on Ebay?

I don't recommend that the listing shown by either BOTCHIENTRUNG on ebay or VIETKINGTRAVEL on Poshmark because the pictures ARE NOT the actual bag.

The pictures are stolen from another seller, "mybagvault" (on ebay but bag not listed there) and this listing in which the description states that she's the seller.

The bag shown in the poshmark and ebay listings has a different creed than the same bag sold by My Bag Vault.

botchientrung (on ebay) aka vietkingtravel (on Poshmark) is located in Tampa, FL.
My Bag Vault is located in Shingle Springs, CA.

Other listings from both the ebay and Poshmark IDs use pictures that appear to come from different sources.

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

Hi, I've had this Coach 9816 bag in midnight blue for probably 20 years, a medium slim duffle crossbody. Zippers have the ykk on the edge, if that matters. Bag seems very well constructed, I believe it is from the mid 1990's. Problem is the serial #, from what I can tell it starts with an "S". Was their ever a time in the 90's when an S would have been legitimate? All these years I thought I had the real thing, now I want to sell it and I'm getting flack about the serial #, which looks like S8M-9816. I was gobsmacked when it was questioned, I swear I got it in a Coach store in Florida. I bought so many bags there, maybe I'm just confused. Anyway, the listing was removed by ebay and I was mortified. What's your opinion on if it's fake? Thanks

I'm sorry it is fake. Ebay was right to remove it, and you must be mistaken that you bought it in a store. There are a lot of things wrong about your bag including the serial prefix. S has never been a legitimate first letter of a creed.

Thanks for that info - what else should I look for that is wrong besides the S in the serial#? Time to educate myself! Thanks again.
