Hi all, please HELP!
I just had a heart attack seeing this turn lock shape. Is this a fake bag or someone possibly fixed the hardware? I never carried this bag since I purchased and didn't see it until now..

It's authentic but I wasn't successful in finding the style number. I'm guessing it's from 2001-2005-ish.

Hi BeenBurned, You are probably right! Some of the obvious fake lists I reported a month ago are still active.
Besides, I have been invited multiple times by PM to authenticate some reported lists. That is ridiculous u know, how could they trust a random customer's judgement again any possible fake lists? that may be the reason why some innocent sellers have been suspended.:oh:
I get those requests too and they are always brands I don't know. I think they remove if they get a certain percentage of people who agree.

It's authentic. I've seen similar turnlocks. It could possibly be original.

Oh, THANK YOU, Whateve! So the bag is at least authentic and possibly the hardware, too? I'm relieved! I was really upset yesterday.

With this bag, the male part (the piece you turn to lock/unlock) appears particularly different, not the base that's attached to the leather. So I thought maybe the tip was replaced at some point in the bag's life but now that you said you have seen it before, it maybe that (1) this is a hardware replacement available in market (non-Coach), or (2) Coach did make bags with this turn lock at some point.

I did image search of Plaza bag and while I did see two variations of shoulder straps (difference in clasps) that seemed to come with this bag, I did not see a single bag with this turn lock. mystery continues..

We never use turnlocks as primary proof that a bag is fake or genuine because they can be changed and often are. And sometimes plants have been known to use locally available hardware pieces when the OEM parts are in short supply. Things like creed and serial number stamps or construction details that are original parts of the bag and are almost always unchangeable are primary proofs, the rest are just backups. There's no need to be concerned about a turnlock.

Welcome to tPF.

All three are genuine. For future requests, please try to use separate posts when bags are almost the same color. It's very easy for photos to get scrambled, it's happened more than once. Thanks!
