Please keep in mind, I am simply expressing devotion to glove tanned BT leather and I do like the style it would appear this bag is emulating. I am not an authenticator so please bear in mind, my comment was to offer info on my authentic Marketing Tote to the authenticators to aid if needed for them to determine what is going on. I defer to their opinions. Gladly.
Of course. I never asked if it was authentic. I asked if anyone had seen a creed like this before. Thank you

I have a marketing tote with different color leather on the interior which was referred to as "Frankenstein," but I have this nyc Stewardess with different colored piping. Was it common to see two different colors of leather used before the spectator bags? 20210525_183112.jpg20210525_183123.jpg20210525_183153.jpg20210525_183244.jpg20210525_182950.jpg

With the lighting evened out, it looks a lot less like a collection of pieces and a lot more like a unified whole. The colors of the main part all match except for the creed and pocket and that might just be due to the leather being from different skins or dye lots. But the creed is still odd, that's why I want @whateve to take a look when she gets back, unless anyone else has ever seen anything like it. It's an older style than what i'm used to seeing so any and all opinions will help. I don't have any experience with rehabbing either so details of pre-serial creeds aren't something I'm comfortable with. The quality looks good so if it's the same as other Marketing Totes then it's likely to be a version of one, a test bag or pilot bag or creed sample of some kind? I've never owned a Marketing Tote so I'm going to bow out of this discussion and wait for someone familiar with the style to figure it out.

More opinions are definitely welcome.

Thanks. Were you able to look at that Stewardess bag I posted? I agree the different colored leather is strange. Thank you for your feedback.

If there had been another bag with the same kind of creed that was verified as genuine, there wouldn't be any need to worry if this one was authentic. We're trying to find out why it was made. It's a curiosity and a mystery and mystery bags are things we love to try and figure out.

And this IS the Authentication thread.

If you're not asking for an authentication, maybe you should ask over at the Vintage Chat thread in the main Coach forum. They're more familiar with details like that than we are here.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use this platform. I apologize

My mind is drifting around the idea of a patch. They are used to mend or cover up a flaw. Or embellish or add. Other thought was that Coach was willing to use glue on serial numbers at one phase, I would guess to meet their production logistics. That’s all I got. Have not seen a patch creed in any photos or irl.

It’s a lot to navigate. I lurked for months before I ever posted. If you go to the top of the page and tap Coach it will bring up 4 sub forums, of which this one is under Shopping and general interest threads. Tap on the sub forums to see all the existing threads.
