Without any solid proof that it was purchased from a Coach store, I'm very uncomfortable with it. Why a patch GLUED onto a leather pocket? It doesn't make any sense. I've not only never seen a leather patch glued onto a pocket, but it also looks like each of the large inside panels is a different color leather and the side with the "creed" looks like 3 different shades of tan (maybe it's the lighting), and the 2 inside zip pockets have 2 different zipper pulls.

You might want to wait until @whateve is available, there are just too many things setting off my alarm bells. How did you acquire that bag, and when? Or is it from a current listing?

Sorry, it looks like a Frankenstein bag to me, as if it's been pieced together from several different sources.
It's probably the lighting. I can take better pictures and post them. My aunt bought it, but she is no longer alive. It's a beautiful tote.

Hello Authenticators, kindly verify if this bag is genuine or not. Thanks so much in advance.
Seller is pookielator

Genuine Carrier Bag from the early 1990s. Its NOT a Musette. The Musette has an OPEN inside pocket and NO outside slip pocket.

That still doesn't tell me why the inside pocket is different from every other similar tote.

Please wait for @whateve. I can't authenticate it based on what I'm seeing. It MAY be OK but I want another opinion. It may even be some sort of creative repair job by Coach but there's no way to know that or prove it.

Hello would you please authenticate this brief I purchased from an estate sale? It's about 15" x 12"

No color at all because it's not a genuine Coach. Beware of vintage bags in unusual and never-seen-before colors, ALWAYS have them authenticated before buying.

ETA - If you're the buyer, cancel the deal. Enlarging the creed photo would also show that "scrtches" in the creed is missing the "a". That's a major red flag found in roughly 3 to 5 percent of vintage fakes, but NEVER in any genuine Coach.

Let me introduce you to the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List. It follows the six Salearea Guides:
Thanks. Missed the "scrtches" bit.

Am I allowed to drool over the BT leather, regardless of the source? I pulled out my somewhat beat up mocha Marketing Tote and the pockets sewn onto the full length side pockets appear correct. Mine has the NYC creed with the xxx-xxxx reg # imprinted on the undivided pocket.
It appears to have the Convertible Clutch style corner seams too.
It makes me wonder if somebody either goofed up and forget to press the Creed before they sewed on the pocket or the Creed got screwed up! So this patch was put on.
If you haven’t seen this before, that says a lot!

A friend thought it may have been a prototype patch. I'll upload more pictures soon. It's absolutely amazing

Please keep in mind, I am simply expressing devotion to glove tanned BT leather and I do like the style it would appear this bag is emulating. I am not an authenticator so please bear in mind, my comment was to offer info on my authentic Marketing Tote to the authenticators to aid if needed for them to determine what is going on. I defer to their opinions. Gladly.
