This Coach purse doesn’t have a style number with the creed, is that normal or is this a fake?
I found a tag inside, F35185. Sorry to bother, I should have looked harder. Apparently this is a made for factory Morgan satchel
You didn't give enough or the required information in your posts to verify authenticity but before assuming it's genuine just because you found a white label with production info, you need to be warned that the counterfeit-makers are putting those labels in fakes too.

Keep in mind one of @Hyacinth's mottos: Anything the makers can make, the fakers can fake.

And in case you doubt me, these are a few pictures of examples:

If you didn't personally buy that bag from a legitimate retailer, I strongly urge you to verify that it's the real deal, referring to the post at the top of the page for the information we need.

Hi Coach lovers!
I found this beautiful bag and need help authenticating it. As a vintage Coach collector the leather feels consistent with other bags I have - but there is no number in the creed patch. Unlike other pre-serial number creed bags, the creed patch reads “made in USA” instead of “made in New York City, USA.” After doing some research I found that bags in the 60’s and 70’s didn’t always have serial numbers but they’d often have the made in New York, New York inscribed. Those bags also had leather ware under the word “Coach” on the hang tag - which this bag does have. One more thing to note is that the underside of the turnlock says solid brass but there is some fading to silver on the knob (not the grommet where the knob goes into though). There is also no back slip pocket like most city bags have.
If this is a fake it’s one of the best fakes I’ve ever seen because of the feel of the leather and interior. Any ideas of what style this bag may be or whether any genuine Coach bags without a number exist that also don’t have New York, New York on the creed patch?
Many thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond!

I'm sorry, it's fake. Where did you get it? You're right, preserial bags would have made in New York City, not made in USA. Note the misspelling on the creed.

I bought this on eBay a few years ago and I ended up never using it. i looked it up comparing the number I found inside and the same purses came up.
Just having numbers that match the correct style doesn't mean that it's authentic. If you look at the side-by-side examples I posted, the fakes have the same numbers as the genuine items.

Thank you for your response - that’s what I thought but wanted to confirm. Found it at a thrift store.
You're welcome. There have been some bags that were made later than the NYC era that don't have a number on the creed. Some of the early Sheridans didn't have numbers. I don't think I've ever seen an authentic post NYC classic all leather style that is missing a number.

And just one more problem with it that we've mentioned here dozens if not a hundred times and that was already mentioned by Whateve, in addition to the other serious problems with that bag - the word "SCRTCHES" without the letter "A" between the R and the T is the Kiss Of Death for any hope of authenticity. Only a small percentage of fakes have it, but ANY alleged "Coach" that has it is counterfeit. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Hi, Would you please authenticate this bag from seller Sampompeii
I did not purchase this bag, however I noticed that there is a Coach plate on it. It struck me as odd because I have never seen a vintage Coach bag from that era with a plate. Thank you.

Why did you think it was odd? Which era do you think it is from? I believe it is authentic. I think the strap may not be original. The hardware doesn't look like brass.

The seller describes it as a Bonnie Cashin era bag with a plate. This is the first time I have seen a plate on one described as Bonnie Cashin era. Nice bag too, wheover got it is lucky.
Actually, that's one of the few bag described as "Bonnie Cashin era" that could possibly be BC era!

Most bags described as such were made long after she left Coach and many were made long after she died!

Interesting! Yes I have noticed that Cashins name is a big buzz word for many listings out there whether she was involved or not. Interesting though. I learned something new today! :)
