O

hey! Thanks so much for all of that. You’re right. I also should have known better. It’s been a while. Thank you for that reminder. With that said here are MY OWN photos of the bag in my presence. I did cut off the tag which had the description on it. I didn’t save it because there was a part that was “sticky” due to the sticker being removed and I was afraid the sticker would damaged the bag later on. Please verify.
@BeenBurned - Hi! Sorry to bother you.. Are these photos better? Still looks good? Sorry to bother you again about this.. Thank you in advance... :) Thanks for all the many 4000 plus authentications.

Thank you so much. Also, I have to say the Coach authenticators are the best. I asked about a bag in another forum. Was told if there wasn’t an online link, they wouldn’t bother. Paraphrasing, but that was the gist.
Thanks for the compliment. I know how that is with some other brands. Many won't authenticate unless the listing hasn't been sold yet, so if you bid on an auction and the auction closes before they get around to authenticating your item, they won't do it. That is why I don't even bother looking at Hermes items.

Genuine, it's a 2000 reissue of the 1993 Diplomat Brief, style 5353.

There was also an earlier Diplomat Brief back in the 1980s with turnlock pockets and a different style number. Coach's habit of reusing names can sometimes be confusing.

From a 1994 catalog:

Great, thank you for the information. I am really liking this pigskin suede that Coach lined some of their bags in. I read about pigskin lining in some of the Italian bags which I am really into lately. I noticed that the outside leather feels extra strong on this brief. It is very heavy duty leather.

And forget it if you bought from a thrift store, Craigslist or if you're a seller who wants to avoid listing a possible fake. You're advised to find a professional authenticator.

Thank you Hyacinth. I have reread them, sorry, I forgot about the serial numbers in pre-1994 bags not being identifiable. I'll make sure to go back regularly to keep myself refreshed.

Thank you. I know there's a lot of information in the Guides to try and absorb, so multiple readings are a good idea. I re-read them myself every 3 months or so. Same thing with the Daria48 Fake Numbers list, and the updates in the rest of the thread. Coach keeps changing the Rules, and I've almost given up trying to keep up with them. One of these days I need to add an update post about the latest change in the serial numbers and how they're re-using old numbers and just adding a letter in front of them.
