Hello!

can you help authenticate this coach?

purchased this in a pre-loved shop last year. Seller does not guar
I have some concerns.

Did this bag happen to come from a seller or shop in the Philippines? I've never seen the chainlink pattern in this particular style and the only places I found it were Shoppee and a Japanese website.

Dear authenticators,

Could you please take a look at the bag? I placed a bid on this item and am hoping to get authentication before making payment.

Item: Vintage Coach Legacy #9047 Brown Leather Medium Shoulder bag Handbag
Seller and site where listed: manaso15 on eBay

Comments: The series number on the creed looks a little bid weird to me. It looks like there's a "frame" around each digit.

Firstly, hello

This is my first post so I hope I’m doing it correctly. I’d like some help with the authenticity of this bag on eBay please.

Item: COACH Vintage "Lindsay" Bone Greige Colour Crossbody Bag E4B 9888 Magnetic Snap

Listing number: 114717225173

Seller: icathmrs0

Link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COACH-Vi...225173?hash=item1ab5adf0d5:g:yR0AAOSw0zRgRMbn

Comments: The quality of the bag seems good except where the handle needs repair, but the printing of the serial/style number is bugging me. I know there can be mistakes with earlier bags but the part of the other number doesn’t appear to correspond with the one printed. I’m new to researching vintage creeds/numbers but this would also suggest this bag was made in 1994 (I think) and from trying to search online, I can only see creeds that appear to be in the earlier format of all number, no letters.

Many thanks in advance for any help :amuse:

- Aimee.

It's authentic. The marks above each digit are overstamping marks, which correspond to the digit on the roller directly above the one stamped. There are two dots for the A over the B, etc. It's an Audrey zip.

It's authentic. The style was introduced in 1992, I believe. It is not surprising they were still making them in 1994. I'm seeing E4B-9888, same as in the title.

Thank you very much. I've only been getting to know the vintage styles recently and as I say, I'm happy with the overall quality, it was just the number. What I meant by it doesn't correspond to the one printed is that above the stamped number there is partial stamping of another completely different number, but I don't know anything about the processes used. I also over think everything!
Thank you again for taking the time to check

The partial stamping of another number you are seeing are called overstamping marks. The numbers were on a roller. The person stamping moved the numbers around the roll until the number they wanted was shown. Above the E is the bottom of a D, above the 4 is the bottom of a 3, above the B is an A, etc.

Which now makes perfect sense and I've learnt something. Thank you so much
