Hi Authenticators!

I bought this bag from a seller on Poshmark and didn't have any reason to believe it was anything other than authentic. However, when I listed it on Mercari recently, they pulled it from their site due to potentially not being authentic. I feel awful that something in my listing gave them the impression of the item not being inauthentic. I very much appreciate Mercari's commitment to selling only authentic items.

Item: "Vintage Mini Coach" (Carnival, 9925)
Listing #: 5fefb2e1fdea1bde8fc3b62a
Site/Seller: Poshmark @denisedavenport

Comments: I didn't find anything to do with the listing or bag in person, that would cause alarm. However, I am not an expert by any means. In my listing, I did add in a Coach box (because it fit the bag well) that I noted was not the original box. That is the only thing I can think of to cause alarm. I don't know if Mercari has an algorithm that picks up key words but that is the only thing I can think of that could have caused the removal. Would very much appreciate your expertise. I'm posting the original purchase information and by no means want to draw attention to the seller bc I didn't have any reason to believe the bag was a fake.
I'm not seeing any photos of the serial number. Without that and without any measurements the bag really can't be authenticated or identified. It's possible that maybe the creed's location in the outside pocket is what someone thought was a red flag. If the bag doesn't have any inside pocket for the creed, that might be the reason.

Mercari has flagged genuine bags before and missed some fakes, so please don't depend on their claimed "expertise".
Thank you for your reply @Hyacinth. The bag measures 8"L x 5.5"H x 2"D. I've attached two creed pics that will hopefully help.View attachment 4962930View attachment 4962931 The stamping isn't very deep but it reads No. F5D - 9925 and is in the front pocket like you mentioned.
The bag is fine. It's a carnival bag made in 1995.

You'll have to clue me in on that one. Who is "Corrie"? If it's from a current comedy series I probably won't recognise it especially if it's on a For-Pay streaming service. I got tired of following programs that I liked as they bounced around to a different streaming service every year and we just cancelled all of them.

I prefer the older comedies anyway, like Frasier. And my hubby and I were spoiled from staying home so many Saturday nights way back when we were first dating, to watch not just SNL but Sha-Na-Na and SCTV. And of course, all those great Britcoms - Are You Being Served, The Black Adder, Waiting For God, To the Manor Born, The Vicar Of Dibley and dozens of others. And the absolute best, Monty Python and - ta-DA !!!!!!! FAWLTY TOWERS! It just don't get any better.

Coronation Street, I haven't watched for awhile but used to be glued to that one.

We don't get "Corrie" on any of our over-the-air or cable stations. And I have a big problem with looooooong storylines, guess I have a short attention span. There have been a few exceptions but the continuing story model just doesn't work for me. Even a single season of Doctor Who is usually a strain on my ancient brain cells. :giggle:

Thank you so much for the information. Is there a website or somewhere on the forum that has the country codes ? I am trying to figure out the creeds on my bags..as in where and when they were made. It is very confusing to me. LOL

We don't post any master list of country codes, because quite a few of them were "floaters" and were assigned temporarily to any plant that needed them. Some codes were even used by plants in 2 different countries in the same month. And most of the serial numbers that include plant codes in the number also include the name of the country where it was made right in the creed.
