Could you please authenticate? I have my doubts based on the creed wording and hyphens.

It's fine. The marks you refer to as hyphens are from the stamping mechanism. The numbers were on a wheel where they dialed the number and if the number wasn't perfectly centered, the over and understamps were from the tops and bottoms of the numbers above and below the intended number.

The bag was made in 1994 and the wording is correct for when it was made.

Since you're new to tPF - WELCOME!

A good place to learn some basic information that many new members ask about such as creeds, serial numbers, production codes, that sort of thing, is right here in the Coach Shopping forums. Start at the "Pinned" subjects at the top of every Coach Shopping page with an index of topics and find the link for "Salearea Guides". You'll find some background information, six very useful AND accurate Guides with all kinds of information especially about classic and vintage Coach bags, and as a bonus, a copy of the Daria48 Fake Coach Serial Numbers List plus updates. Remember where it's posted because the Guides and List give anyone involved with buying or selling vintage Coach a great place to go for information.

If what you find there seems to contradict something you've read or heard someplace else, you can post a question in this thread or in the Answer To Authenticty Questions thread designed for that kind of question and in the same index section. This may sound a bit egotistical, but if you do find any such contradictions, assume that the Salearea Guides and Daria48 List are correct until we can analyze the contradiction. One of the Salearea Guides is specifically about the dangerous mistakes found in the vast majority of online "authenticity guides", see my Signature for my thoughts on them.

Click on the expanded link below to check out the Guides:

BTW, those "hyphens" above and below the serial number digits are referred to here in these forums as "overstamping" lines just in case you come across the term and aren't sure what it means. They can be found in real OR fake Coaches but the authenticators here are very good at telling the difference.

I saw a bag on ebay. The creed looked different what I have seen previously. Can we check the authenticity for this bag?

Item: Shoulder bag

Seller and site where listed: sincerelytexas

Thank you very much!

Oooooo, a new fake creed for my files! Thank you!

Darned right it's fake. Too-short AND fake style number, invalid plant code, fake hardware, "hanScraftedin U.S.A...", and probably more.

My guess would be made in Korea based on the inside and top zipper pulls. We've also seen them mistake an "E" for an "S" before on one creed with a logo that said COACH LEATHERWARS instead of LeatherwarE, unless that's a new release from the Star Wars universe I haven't heard about.

ETA - Here's the same creed in a different fake with a missing or Photoshopped style number that we found back in 2013:

So, maybe a not-so-new creed. I guess "Hans" crafted more than one.

I knew that serial number was familiar.

This is a post from November 19.

Good evening dear authenticators. A request to authenticate please. Thank you!

Item: 4148 Shoulder bag
Where purchased or how obtained: thrift store
Comments: dimensions are 9" height, 8" width, 3 1/4" depth. This one is making me concerned. The leather feels stiff and not like the dark colours I usually get. However, I have little experience with light colours. Was 'H' a US factory? A least I'll have a hangtag for a light coloured bag that is missing one!

This bag is fine. H is a US plant but there are some bad (as in, obvious) H plant fakes but there are also some close fakes where the font and "H" are extremely close.

ETA: The following is an example of how close some of the fakes are.
