Good Evening, this bubblegum bag is cute (liked, saved, bundled) on Poshmark while it's also available on Etsy (and in my cart) however I find serious issue with the creed and the "solid brass" stamp on the hardware. I have not seen that on any bags younger than I am (aka old). Is this a Limited Edition or specialty item made to replicate the original 60-70's NYC bags? I have attached both listings, it is the same bag and same seller just under two different selling names.

Item: RARE Vintage Coach Turnlock Backpack in Lavender # D6P-9960

Etsy Listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/899924...lock-backpack-in?ref=shop_home_active_1&cns=1
Seller VintageSimplicite

Poshmark Listing: https://poshmark.com/listing/RARE-V...Backpack-in-Lavender-5fa629e4c936af58c5e91e66
Seller
celinecherie
You are right to be suspicious. It's fake.
LOL! Interesting discussion on celinecherie's Poshmark listing!
I saw that.
Wouldn't you think the expert would enlighten the seller? Or maybe he doesn't really know and can't give accurate information.

ETA: And she removed it from Poshmark because she doesn't want people to know that authenticity was questioned.

But Celina from VintageSimplicite (on Etsy) still has it up and running.

Someone is going to get scammed for $250.

ETA again: It's back:
Poshmark listing was ended again (third time!) but knowing it's fake, celinecherie relisted again.

(And as VintageSimplicite, she also still has it listed on Etsy.)

This is SO helpful--thank you both for the replies. As I've sat here with the bags, I wonder about keeping the Maggie for the new Grand daughter!! Now I know it's authentic--after all, I have to start her off right!

Thank you all for all of the times that you've enabled me to purchase and all of the times that you've saved me from a lot of trouble. All of your work and knowledge is truly appreciated.

I thought I'd just complete this thought. I found my daughter's first ever Coach bag and decided that was the bag I was keeping for the new grand daughter. Photo attached. A well loved style 8912. IMG_6793.JPG

And if the "expert" on Poshmark is so influential and so, uuuuummm, "expert", why doesn't he just REPORT the bloody thing??? How many times has he accused posters at Ebay's Fashion Board for not "doing their duty" because they wouldn't pay attention to his posts about bags he thought were fake or because they wouldn't confirm his shaky diagnoses?

I doubt if Etsy will listen to me but I reported it anyway. Some day I just might get lucky.

Remember, the word "expert" in this situation should always be in quotation marks. :graucho:

Comments: Dimensions are 8" height, 10" width, 3 1/2" depth. Back of turn lock may look like it has indentations but it is flat.

Dear authenticators, request to authenticate please. Thank you!

Item: Small flap (My BT one was authenticated here and named, I believe by Hyacinth, but I can't find the post to confirm the name)
Where purchased or how obtained: thrift store
Comments: dimensions are 6" height, 8" width, 4" depth. Pardon so many photos of the creed. I had a lot of trouble taking a decent one and the creed is faint.

I'm afraid it's not good news.

I'm seeing D4F-5130, the style number is for a Station Bag. The creed and serial are also identical to a fake "Willis" we found a while back with exactly the same serial number and creed details, see the first 2 pics below.

The last pic is what a GENUINE F plant serial from 1994 should look like, note the 2 different fonts.
