Hi Hyacinth,
I was reading this forum and noticed people still ask for Coach authentication for bags with COAs from shopgoodwill. I never thought I had to worry about those bags. Do I?
Thanks,
Anne
I have never gotten a fake with a COA from goodwill, but I have gotten a couple with a COA from Entrupy that had the color of the bag wrong on the certificate and another where it just wasnt the same bag at all.
Idk if it was a mixup at goodwill or entrupy just got it wrong. They were similar vintage bucket bags but the style on the certificate was for a larger round bottom bag.
****************** authenticated this bag with the following certificate.

Good to know. Thanks Whateve. ☺

I am trying to figure out if this is an Authentic Coach from the 1960 -1970. Husbands mother passed away and found while cleaning out her closets. Also if authentic, what would the approximate value be.
Size Width, 10" and height 10"

Item: Coach Bucket Bag
Where purchased or how obtained - Friend's parents' estate
Comments: Having trouble verifying this bag. Only one 4-digit number on creed and verbiage is light and hard to read in pic. Here is text:
COACH
THIS IS A COACH BAG. IT WAS
HANDCRAFTED IN COSTA RICA
OF NATURAL FULL-GRAIN COWHIDE
THAT IS WATER RESISTANT AND
EXCEPTIONALLY DURABLE. GENTLE
TUMBLING PROVIDES A DISTINCTIVE
TEXTURE WITH NATURAL GRAIN
VARIATIONS.

Thank you!
I have the exact bag in dark brown. It's been certified twice and its identical.

It's authentic. It's a classic pouch, also called a classic shoulder bag, made between the mid 70s and the late 80s. It is a very common style, #9170. You can search completed listings on ebay to see what similar bags sold for. https://www.ebay.com/sch/169291/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=coach+9170&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
Color, age and condition play a role in the value. At the end, it just depends how much someone wants the bag and how much they are willing to pay for it.

I have a similar mini-flap that is a newer Costa Rican made bag. It's been sitting for awhile on PM and Merc. I've listed other bags though that were made in NY that were snapped up quickly. The trend in my Coach sales seems to be made in NYC, unique colors or just a good roomy vintage bag and of course anything super rare. If you rehab it and price it lower than the comps you should sell it pretty quickly.

Dear authenticators, can I please request help to authenticate this whiplash saddle , I bought it from a really nice lady from my coach canadian group, who in turn got it from the realreal (I think I found the original listing from the real real so I have added it) https://www.therealreal.com/product...1-pebbled-leather-crossbody-873i8?position=25
Seller : from my canada coach fan group
Dimensions: H 12 in × l 14 inch × with 3 3/4 (9cm )
There is no white tag inside (I look everywhere for it) , and the creed google only shows me the saddle 23 but this is a size 35 ; the seller is very nice and told me if there are any issues I can return.
Thank you again , I appreciate the help

Not a specific request, but these are bags from goodwill that have creeds I haven't seen before. The first one with the " hug it" in it has several comps for sale on PM, i have never seen one that has craftsmanship spaced this way and ive never seen the creed referred to as a "story patch.
If they are legit I'm curious about the differences and if they are specific To certain styles, dates or place of manufacturing.

Style numbers weren't put on creeds until 1994. You can tell the difference because creeds with style numbers have at least one letter in the number. The first digit would be a letter but there are a few cases in which the plant transposed the order.

These are different years. Coach has changed the wording of the creed many years. The first is 2017, the second is 2016 and the third is 2008.

Good to know. Thank you so much. That hug and rub part in the one creed made me laugh...cause I actually do that when I get a new bag I love.

That wording was used in some paperwork that came with bags in the 70s and 80s, possibly even earlier than that.

Hello. I purchased two bags from coachoutlet.com. The website appears to be legit, but the bags don’t seem as high of quality as other Coach bags I have. I just wanted to double check if you could verify they are authentic. I compared to a couple of my current bags and a few things seem off.

Item: Gallery Tote in Signature Canvas
Style: F79609
Color: IMAA8 (Dark brown, with black “C’s”)
Dimensions: 15x11.5x5
Purchased from: https://www.coachoutlet.com
Serial Number: NoH2078-F79609

That is the official website for the Coach outlet. Items purchased there are authentic. I suppose there is a tiny chance that someone could return a fake and it gets shipped out to the next unsuspecting customer. I don't see any problems with your bag. Items that are specifically made for the outlet may look and feel inferior to bags made for the boutique. If you focus on the items listed in the Coach Reserve section, those should be better quality. There are variations in quality depending on style and materials. I recently bought a leather made for outlet bag (the Jez with star quilting) and I'm happy with it. It's not the best quality bag I own but it is still nice.
