Genuine Quincey from 1994

@BeenBurned Sorry to bother you again, concerning the bag in this post. I found a very similar looking bag, apart from the logo on the front, a Chelsea Carryall. (And found lots of that style on websites selling fakes, so now I'm even less confident ) The seller said that the bag did come with tassels and a hangtag, but they got lost. And it was a gift. So she doesn't know where the bag originally came from.

I do like the bag a lot but really wouldn't want to end up purchasing a fake. I might be able to meet with the seller in a couple of days and handle the bag, although I wouldn't have much to go on - never had a Coach item.

Are you sure you've never seen this style before?
As I said in the previous post, I don't see any indication that the bag is fake.

My not having seen that exact item before doesn't mean it's fake nor does it mean that we can't judge authenticity. The construction, the fonts, the markings, the creed -- all are correct for where and when made.

(In fact, there was another post where we hadn't seen the bag but based on what we know and the criteria used for authentications, it was deemed to be fake. These are the posts: First from the poster, then from Hyacinth and then my post.)

Again, I do believe you received an authentic bag, possibly one that may not have been available to the US market and that could be a reason we haven't seen it.

ETA:
BTW, do not apologize for asking for clarification or questioning my post. I want you to feel comfortable and if you aren't comfortable, I want to help further, if possible.

It's authentic. It was called a skinny tote and was made in the early 1970s. The style number was 8605.

Thank you, BeenBurned! <3 I will go ahead then and buy the bag. I'm curious about the color changing so much in different lighting, hopefully, I'll like it.

Re the color, I don't think it's the bag. I think it's the seller's lack of photography skills.

Editorial comment: With the ease of use of cameras nowadays, it's not difficult to take clear, well-focused and fairly accurate color pictures. And if the color doesn't photograph correctly, it's easy to change the angle, go outdoors, turn on/off overhead lights, etc. to get a more accurate color!

JMHO, but I think some sellers' laziness cost them sales when they aren't willing to take the time to get it right.

I remember that one, a tPF member years ago used a similar photo as her avatar. Give me a few minutes to find it in my files and double check this one against my file photo.
