Doesn’t smell like leather and inside the pocket does not appear like suede. Thanks so much!

I wasn’t meaning to, honestly, I’m so sorry. Haven’t got the hang of it yet.
Ok, I switched to a computer. Much better to navigate. I did read the rules, just misunderstood.
Item: "Vintage Coach Crossbody Brown Leather Bag."
Listing #: can't find that
Poshmark Seller: @luvedluxury
Link: https://poshmark.com/listing/Vintage-Coach-crossbody-Brown-Leather-Bag-5d3380de10f00f864718c8b9
Earlier I thought I was posting on another thread... please excuse my ignorance. I can't figure out how to delete comments made in error! Any help with the bag is most appreciated!

Everything I see looks right. The way an older leather bag smells or feels can depend on what products, such as conditioners, have been used on it. The most accurate proof of authenticity is the creed patch and serial number and especially the fonts used in the stamping of both since counterfeiters almost never get that right for a Coach made in the plant and year indicated by the production codes in the number, and yours are exactly right.

It's a genuine Legacy Small Flap, style 9965, made in 1998. Here's Coach's catalog page for that style from the Holiday 1997 catalog:

ETA - and please don't worry about mistakes made in posting. This site is huge and can be confusing to maneuver around. It takes a few months to get the hang of things. I've been here at leat 13 years, I think, and there are still a few doors I haven't peeked behind yet. Using a computer is much more efficient, and I'd always recommend carefully examining any listing photos on a computer before actually buying, the photos are easier to see and enlarge accurately.

Welcome to tPF!

Good afternoon authenticators! Request to authenticate please. Thank you!

Item: I am unable to find. No. 1032-201. Just saw a brown one, the seller calls it "Cooper". I am unable to verify if that is accurate.
Where purchased or how obtained: thrift store
Comments: Dimensions are 8" height, 10" width (measured at largest width) and a little over 3" depth. Pardon the poor quality photos. Besides absolute lack of talent on the part of the photographer, it is overcast today and the lighting is not great. Hope they are okay enough for authentication.

Where do you thrift???? My gosh.

Where do you thrift???? My gosh.
Lol! Mostly in Mtl but the greatest finds, ie vintage Coach which is my favourite, were in the NYC tri state area, (NJ and CT). If you ever go there, definitely take the time to go to the thrift stores. There is much more than handbags as well. I would say to be careful because there are a lot of fakes. However, you seem more knowledgeable than me.

It appears authentic. I don't have this style in my files and I can't find anything on it when I do a search. I have a few pictures of styles from the same line in my files.

Phew!! Thank you so much! I am so glad it looks good because I just snapped it up! Lol! The price was low enough that I was willing to risk it. I will post lots of photos when I get it to add to the database. Thank you!!

You're welcome. This particular line is a mystery. We've never found any catalog pictures. I bet they didn't make many of them.

There seem to be about 8 or 10 styles, all from the same 1997 line. It was called the Manhattan Collection (not to be confused with an earlier Manhattan Collection from around 1993). We've never found a catalog showing the styles or names.
