The creeds are very light so that concerns me. It looks to be k89-9781 for the brown one. I have already dunked them and they are drying as we speak. They didn’t fall apart in the water so that makes me hopeful.

The red one is fine. The brown one is mystery. The numbers after the dash should be 9061. I'm still having a problem with the prefix before the dash. There is an outlet mark and many things about the creed look right. The best I can say is that it is questionable but might be okay. Other opinions are welcome.

I'm confused also. I lightened and sharpened the creed in question to see if I could read it better. Although clearer, I still can't tell what the plant code is.

This is what I found.

Although I believe the bag in question is 1998, the 1998 comps I found had over and understamping from the numbers on either side of the stamping machine.

While the creed in question doesn't appear to be 1996, the stamping is closer since the one in question and 1996 creeds don't have over and understamping.

But what has me totally confused is that the plant code doesn't others, whether it's B, C or D I'm looking at. Although I believe it's a "C" it's too thin.

And in all the examples, the serial numbers are stamped lower under the creed than the bag in question.

I'm not much help and I can't figure it out but here are the examples:
K6C comps 1.pngK6C comps 2.pngK8C comps 1.png

Creed on the red one might be LOD-9145. Best guess.

I have a guess on the brown one. The style number is saying -9061 to me, and I think the prefix is K8C. Here's the same prefix BUT I think the K in this one from my files is actually upside down, and the mistake was corrected before the Rambler's Legacy was made and stamped. Whatcha think?

From my files:

the Rambler's Legacy:
1998_C plant_K8C-9061-b.jpg

I just saw the pics BB posted, the last one has the same maybe-upside down K. Or maybe the Rambler's has the upside down K.

Can I ask why you're calling it a Bonnie Cashin style wallet? I don't recall seeing any Cashin wallet photos of similar styles that are uniquely Cashin, it just looks like a basic trifold wallet. Cashin's name is hugely overused and should only be used on items that can proveably be traced back to her, anything else would technically be considered Keyword Spamming and maybe even SNAD (significantly not as described) by a site like Ebay because it implies a higher value and rarity than the item actually has. It's also a practice that is universally frowned upon by tPF members. (BTW, sellers aren't allowed to link to their own listings. You can post photos but NOT a direct link, that's considered "advertising" or "shilling".)

If the brown box in your photos is the one that it came in, please post a clear photo of the label on the side of the box. I'm also wondering about the white and brown booklet. Paperwork, care cards, etc, should only be included if they were actually included by Coach with the original item, otherwise they confuse or cloud the authentication process, because they can usually be linked to a specific time period. (They're also often found in fakes). I don't believe the brown booklet and the box are from the same time period. Close, maybe, but not the same.

The wallet style itself only was introduced around 1996, assuming it's the same style number 4894 as the comparable one you also posted in your question, which makes any Cashin connection extremely unlikely since she stopped designing for Coach in 1974. And we don't know that it's the same style unless we can see the label on your box.

Both belts seem to be genuine but I can't tell you anything about them.

The buckle on the red belt isn't original to the bag nor is it Coach.

Hi again! I believe I read that 3 purses is the limit to request authentication at one time, so I have 3 today. Thank you in advance for looking and offering any help! EDIT: The bottom 2 bags already sold, but I would still be very grateful if the first one could be looked over!

Item: Coach Hippie Flap
Seller and site where listed: gcahoon51, Poshmark

Comments: My mom already clicked "purchase" before I could ask about this one. I read the sale guidelines and saw it is normal to have spaces between numbers, but I wasn't sure if it's normal for the year code to be so much smaller than the other numbers/letters.

Item: Coach Companion Flap (I think)
Seller and site where listed: aurorabetty, Poshmark

The bag you showed in the pictures is authentic.

And you're correct. Though Marshall's, TJ Maxx and other legitimate retailers sell authentic, there are dishonest buyers who do switcheroos so if there's any question of authenticity, it never hurts to verify.

In fact, there's a long thread where a seller ended up in jail for doing just that! If you get bored, this thread is interesting reading.

Thank you for providing this info BeenBurned!
