IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Hi, can anyone help me authenticate this two bags : thank you kindly

Neither listing has enough of the pictures we need to authenticate the bags.

Please refer to the post at the top of each page for the required pictures.
Hi , thank you, i will ask more pictures, I am slightly confused tho, in the 1st link hse does have several pictures, creed, sides, top , bottom, locks , creed, you could please advice me what more to request? Thank yoi
The 1941 collection bags have weird creeds - not real serial numbers nor date/plant/style info. What I need from those bags is more fully outlines in post #1 on the first page of the thread:

"Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number."
To compound the confusion of navigating such a huge site when you're a newbie, trying to figure out what pictures and information are needed depending on when the items were made and which collection they're from can leave a newbie feeling overwhelmed!
Yes, there is a lot more to it , and lots to learn . I did get the extra pictures
I just want to make sure they are real before making an offer since these are not cheap, thank you

Thank you again
Generally, I don't authenticate listings that are posted on Poshmark and I usually recommend against doing business on that site.

Of the 3 regular Coach authenticators, I'm the most familiar with some of the newer styles and because I responded to your request, I will help you with the two listings, however I stand by my recommendation to at least try to avoid Poshmark when items are available elsewhere. (My usual response to authentication requests for listings on PM is to either ignore requests or explain why I recommend against the site.)

In my opinion, the 2 listings you've asked about are for authentic bags and the sellers seemed responsive to your requests.

In case you're wondering why I'm so adamant against patronizing that site, you can read my latest rant here. (This isn't the first time something like this has happened):

Poshmark has a long history of:
1. Ignoring reports of counterfeit items
2. Allowing blatant fakes to be sold and in many cases, if returned, Poshmark lets the sellers relist and resell those counterfeit items
3. Banning members who tell sellers why their items are fake
4. Using a "team of authenticators" who don't know the brands and deny that counterfeit items are fake

Thank you so much for your help, especially since you don't support poshmark. Unfortunately I live in Canada and our options are really limited, we don't have access to goodwill, or even nordstrom rack, most sellers on eBay won't ship to Canada and if they do they shipping is close to $60 and custom fees charged by eBay are anywhere from $100-$200 . Poshmark Canada doesn't hace access to usa poshmark so our access to items is also super reduced, is kind of hard to find goods in the 2nd hand market and right now, trips to salvation army and value village are out of the map for me (3 kids and work at long term care) , if anyone has suggestions of were to find some pieces besides poshmark I would be so grateful . Thank you again for your help, it is much appreciated

Would appreciate if this bag could be authenticated:

it has “bean” in the creed, but I also read that some of these creeds are authentic as the “bean” part was a mistake in production. Thank you!

Hello, I purchased this mini day pack key chain on ebay recently and I'm worried it's fake, mostly due to the chains on the key ring and the Coach tag. Hoping you guys can help, thank you!!

PLEASE read the instructions for requesting an authentication at the top of each page. Since it's an Ebay purchase we need the seller's name and most importantly, the URL or number of the listing so we can report it and make it easier for you to get your money back.

You're correct, it's fake. The seller owes you a full refund including return shipping charges if she insists that you return it.

Here's an example of a real one, click on the thumbnails to enlarge:

The hangtag doesn't match and is too big, and the turnlock is also fake and not the kind or size used on the genuine pouches.

Thank you! I have initiated the return, hoping it goes through without any issues. Glad I didn't spend very much on this!

She sold another fake in black the day before you bought the blue one.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. You guys are really impressive - they've already removed both of the listings!
