@Hyacinth this was the bag from my vintage coach chat post . Its last 4 digits are the style number but I was under the impression that these numbers are unique to the bag itself?

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/124245837926

It's probably one of the very last bags with the Made In NYC stamp, and the style was introduced some time in 1988, in the early or middle part of the year. The 9830 Blazer Bag has the same 9830 style number as the last half of the serial number, but that's pure coincidence. Like I said, there's a one-in-10,000 chance that a serial number would have the same last 4 digits as the bag's official style number, and this is an example. So don't discard it or think it's fake. If anything, it makes it a bit more interesting.

Genuine bags that deliberately include the style number will never have NYC creeds, should always be from 1994 or newer, and will always have at least one letter of the alphabet in the serial prefix.

ETA - It's one of the very few pre-1994 bags that can be narrowed down to an exact year when it was made- 1988, since it was the introductory year of that style and also the last year of the NYC creeds.

hi Everyone , thank you in advance ! , could anyone help me , please , I am not sure they are real, I just recently started collecting coach purses and I have much to learn , thank you, these are all from the same seller

And this is a different seller:

Thank you ☺

Purchased at a garage sale. width at zipper 13 inches. Handle 6 inches. Top to bottom 8 inches. Is is genuine ? If so,
is there enough info to tell me the style name/number and year ? Thanks as always for all of your time and knowledge. 1- genuine Hamptons Weekend Small Hobo made in 2005. I'm not sure what the seller means by "chimes" unless there's some kind of bell inside those pompoms.

2- can't be authenticated without photos of the 2 small usually white tags hidden inside the bag, see the "Read Me" set of instructions at the top of every age in this thread. One says Made In ... and the other has 2 rows of letter and number production codes. More information can be found in the second post of Page One of this thread. But so far I don't see any obvious problems.

3- looks good but I don't know the name, made in 2010

4- we really need to be able to clearly read the creed stamp and serial number

5- genuine

Purchased at goodwill. Can this be authenticated ? also any info about it if known. Thanks as always.View attachment 4779565View attachment 4779566

1- If I'm reading the number correctly it's a genuine Soho Waverly made in 1996. The style number is 4133.

2- The wallet is genuine, it looks like a ziparound or accordian zip. The design is probably either a Poppy Tartan or a Signature or Signature Stripe Tartan and is about 10 years old.

@orangekitty121

Do you think it would help to refer cheyanimall here?

It's bad enough that she sold a fake but to give you a hard time about returning it is wrong!

She sells a good amount of Coach. Maybe she could learn a bit here.
So I opened a case with Poshmark, referencing the fact that the K3H prefix is a known fake (along with screenshots multiple sources saying it was a known fake). Also noted that the prefix says it was made in 1993, however the bag was not introduced until 1998 (I also uploaded a scan from the 1998 Coach catalogue showing the 9997 purse). I also submitted photos of the stamps "CHINA" and "SOLID BRASS" on the hardware which are dead giveaways. Lastly, I uploaded photos showing that the measurements were 2+ inches off from the original dimensions of a 9997 purse.

Poshmark DENIED my request and said it was real and I can't send it back. Totally lost any faith in buyer protection for Poshmark. Not sure what to do moving forward, I guess I will have to open a complaint with my CC company?

The bag is fake and you have the protection provided by your credit card company. So go for it.

While I don't think this has anything to do with Poshmark's decision, I do have a correction to what you told them. You said you "noted that the prefix says it was made in 1993." If "K3H" was a valid prefix, it would have indicated a 2003 manufacture year, not 1993.

I'm so sorry Poshmark and cheyanimall stuck it to you.

Thanks :) And that's for that bit of additional info, I'm still learning!

What a pain! This is why we don't recommend Poshmark.

I’ve looked pretty extensively for a few days before finding this forum and I think I may have been given a knockoff. I’m posting pictures and would be very grateful for anyone’s help.
