Hi there, I hope I am writing this in the correct place, Let me know..I have recently begun collecting vintage Coach bags and I purchased this small bag with a turn lock. The creed states made in New York City. I just want to confirm that it is authenticate as I realize the serial numbers were different at this time period. I have had some sour purchases that turned out to be inauthentic lately. Thanks and Best.

Please read the first 2 posts in this thread and the post at the top of every page of the thread, the post that says IMPORTANT READ ME, about what information and details are required for authentication and include those details in any future posts.

The bag is genuine.

Thank you.

Hi all, appreciate your authentication of the following:

Item: East West Compartment Bag (i think)
Seller: rosecoach on Etsy
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/783269645/vintage-coach-east-west-cross-body-tan
Seller: LastTangoVintage on Etsy
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/773236232/vintage-coach-bag-coach-handbag-vintage
Comments: I believe the second item is the same as the first, but I don't see any numerical reference inside. Is that normal for this style?

Item: Coach clutch
Seller: Oldvintagestop on Etsy:
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/776636017/coach-black-thick-leather-vintage-clutch

Item: Court bag
Seller: BlueDaisyClassics on Etsy
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/743947592/gorgeous-authentic-coach-black-leather

Many thanks for the help.

Sorry but where do I find seller’s completed listings? She said she had 2 of these bags listed so the others must have been sold yesterday.
There's more than one way but this is the easiest (IMO).

On the seller's page, click on "see other items" on the upper right side of the page under the seller's ID.
see other items.png

After clicking, it'll bring you to the next page. Scroll down the left side of the page and click "completed." That'll bring you to the completed listings. If there are many listings, you can further filter by clicking "clothing, shoes & accessories"

I've added numbers to the listings in order to make it easier to distinguish among the bags.

1, 3 and 4 are fine.

#2 from LastTangoVintage has a picture of the creed that is illegible. It can't be authenticated as shown.

Thank you @BeenBurned ! i'll make sure to number them next time. I'll post a pic of the creed once I have it.

Also out of curiosity, is there a style name for item 3?

What little I can see of the serial number for style 9167 seems OK.

If you were asking if styles 1 and 2 were the same style, no, they're not. Different style numbers, different details, different sizes. Both were made in 2000, the light tan one that the seller has listed as style 9154 is actually style 9164, East-West Compartment Bag.

Style 9167 has one of Coach's more unusual names, the Legacy Top Of Counter Compartment Bag. No, I don't know why and I doubt if Coach does either. Contrary to what the seller claims, the dark brown style 9167 wasn't made in the 1980s.

As for the Clutch at #3, sorry, I don't have a name in my files for it. All I know is that it's from the early 1990s

Thank you for the explanation! And maybe the idea for 9167 was the smaller the bag, the longer the name haha.
