I purchased this large bucket on ebay and have some concerns the creed looks okay except i have read that the factory code s
only made briefcases and luggage and
the strap has silver toned rivets and is very long
is it possible the bag is real but the strap is a replacement

Sorry, it's not genuine. All serials with 1995 year codes and S plant codes have been fake. The silver grommets in the strap are additional evidence.

Below is a creed from a very fake S-code bag with a -9085 style number from a bag that was copying a Station Bag. The font in the known fake is exactly the same as in yours. Even the deeper stamping on the right side of the 5 in the serial number is the same.

Do you have the link to the original listing?

I agree that it is fake. I just wanted to comment that this is one of the few fakes I've seen where they seem to have gotten the pocket size right and the zipper pull is sewn all the way around too.

ETA: I think the pocket might still be slightly too big but it is a lot closer than most fakes.

Yes, it's one of those "scary good" fakes. The rivets and strap mounting in the third pic look sloppy and not placed correctly but that's probably the only thing someone would notice who wasn't already familiar with that style. We could probably spot more red flags with more photos but the serial number alone works for me as proof, the other details just back that up.

The rivet location and the stitching look sloppy, but the concave nature of the rivets looks just like the rivets Coach used. I had to get one of my vintage Coach rivets replaced and all the cobblers had flat rivets that didn't match.

I purchased this a while back at an antique mall for myself and it was cheap! Please authenticate. Thanks.
Size is about 10" high by 12" wide by 5" deep. Sorry about the artistic photos. Need to clean my tablet lens!
