It is found in the zippered section of the pocket against the back wall.
That's fine. They've been found both places. I just couldn't picture how you could find it with that pocket there.
You're welcome.
This is a nice bag. I bought a used one for myself on ebay a while ago. It turned out I found out I don't like the duffle style bags because I can't find anything in them (usually trying to grab something in the dark). I ended up selling it even though I liked the exterior suede mosaic pattern.
I completely understand that about duffles! They are so deep and it is even worse when they have a dark lining. I like slim duffle like this one because fit close against my body when I carry them on my shoulder. They are very comfortable to carry. This bag is really beautiful and I love suede.

Bag number 3 from Goodwill on last Wednesday. Please authenticate. Style name? Thanks.

Is it normal for a letter to have a space then the next character be so much bigger than the rest? I'm guessing something with the stamping process? It seems so awkward.

It's normal for SOME plants and Some years. There's no such thing as a "normal" or standard serial number stamp, although some of the newer styles come close. But in older bags, every serial stamp from every plant had its own characteristics.

I have not had any luck trying to post ebay pictures. Old & addled should be my nickname. I had to ask the seller to send a picture of the creed on the spectator as it wasn't in the listing. I purchased the burgundy 4050 bag from this same seller and it was very nice so am giving the benefit of the doubt on the other one. Paying in the $60 range for these so they are a little nicer than others cheaper. So far no luck at re-sale shops or good will in this area. BTW, I am noticing on some of my bags the dye looks a little streaky in some areas, is this common in older bags. I wouldn't call it stretch marks, per se, because they are flat and look more like runny dye. You are right about color, that bag looks different every time I take a picture of it.
the listing number is 231534784412

The one in the listing is a City Bag Spectator, style 6790. We'd need a creed and serial number photo to guesstimate the age but it was probably made in 1989 or 1990. Coach only made the Spectator color combinations for a few years, and they used different serial numbers than the solid color styles.

And yes, older bags could have what looks like streaky colors, the reds were probably one of the worst. Sometimes a bath and conditioning will even out the color a bit, but check at the Rehab and Rescue thread to see if it's been discussed.

The serial number is 047-3907. Will try and get a clear picture. This is like a complicated mystery theater. Don't even want to think about Sheridans, and Dakota's and Bonnie Cashin's!!!!!!

I think I need to have this bag...'cept a Willis bag isn't considered a clutch is it? The seller claims its a perfect bag to restore but I don't see any serious flaws in it. Does anybody else?

It's genuine. The pictures show some wear around the bottom edges.
