Figuring out keychains got a lot more complicated when Coach started remaking older styles with minor changes for the outlets, and especially when they made so many styles for other markets that were never available in the US.

The details of the Koi part of the charm are right, but either it's a remake for the outlets or the owner changed the chain and keyring to a charm clip. And it's hard to see exactly what color the base metal is, it almost looks like brass the photos or maybe it's picking up color from the lighting or background, the original keyfob was silver. The charm itself looks authentic but I don't think the rest of it is.

You're awesome. Some further research leads me to believe that the silver one was sold as a fob, and the brass one was sold as a pendant with a ball chain necklace. Is that possible? Here's a listing to what I'm referring to. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=131468083734

I found reference to style number F94348 for the brass pendant.

What do you think?

Hi,

I just purchase a lanyard from deal.com.sg and when I collected it from the company, the lanyard stitches are very badly done. The company claims that the Coach lanyards are free gifts from magazines, thus, they are not supposed to be perfect. In addition, they claim that Coach had provided them with certifications that the lanyards they are selling are authentic. But when I request to view the so-called certifications, they declined to provide and stated that it is P&C and for internal use only.

I had tried calling Coach in Singapore, but no one picked up the phone.

Thus, am wondering if I can provide some pictures to verify if the item is authentic?

Below are some of the links:

If they were free gifts there's no way we can confirm that, since Coach USA never offers any gifts with a magazine purchase. If they really were made to be included as a free gift, it makes sense that the quality would not be the same as the ones made for their stores. The material is not real leather either, it's listed as "PU" which is polyurethane vinyl.

There is no possibility that Coach would ever include an item that sells in their stores for $69 US as a free gift with a magazine, and I don't think any magazine would spend that kind of money for them either. So while it may have been made as a Gift With Purchase, it probably never was priced at $69 in the Real World.

The full-price Coach stores in the USA don't even sell lanyards, the only place that does is the Factory Outlet stores and they don't have any online catalog we can check. But even in the Outlet Stores I would expect a lanyard to be made of real leather.

Keep checking back here for more answers though, some of our members in Asia and Australia may have seen them and may be able to give you more information.

Did you get it? I was worried about the rehab on it.

I did. I'm worried about that too but I figured it was worth the risk at that price. It looks like I can at least pull the lining out to wash, if not dunk the whole thing, based on what I saw over on the Rehab forum. Have to see what the handle situation is.

You can look at it from across the lake. :D

It's possible, maybe someone else will remember it. It looks like it was indexed at Worthpoint as sold on Ebay on April 8, 2009

The silver metal one was definitely sold as a fob, I own one.

ETA - Woo-WOO! Found the pendant, at least, #94348. It was sold some time around January 2009 at least in the FP stores and a few must have ended up at the outlets.
