Do any of you recall seeing those types of buckles in gold? Even the fake bags with the buckles have always had silver hardware.

I also agree that the bag is fine but I'm not even sure that the hardware was from a genuine Coach bag.
This is a bit of a question about authenticity within a post about another bag I asked about the other day... Sorry if it's weird.

Comments: 2 reasons I'm asking about this bag. I've looked up the style number, and the font on the serial number looks different on each one... Due to the inconsistency, I'm having trouble discerning which ones might be real or fake. Maybe they're all real? Is it a factory thing? Am I just seeing things? Also, look at the buckles; they're the same as the ones on the shoulder pouch I posted about the other day. Debi at Sacs Magnifique said the buckles on my bag probably ended up on it when someone sent it in to Coach for a repair, and Coach used what they had on hand that fit. I had asked her if she could source some buckles for me since I realized the ones I had were too heavy, b
Now knowing how they might have ended up on the shoulder pouch (which one of you suggested too I believe) made me feel better about them being there. Lol. I hope this all makes sense!

The bag from Paula, Owner of LoveVintageCoach on Etsy is fake.

9405 is a style with some close fakes out there. Bags of that style should be verified.

The pink bag on etsy is fake. Coach never made items in bubblegum pink during the 80s or 90s. The font and other details of that creed number are commonly used on fakes. Since it is fake, the buckles are fake too.

The only styles I remember seeing those buckles on are these or others from the same line, from around 1999 or 2000. 9071 Audrey Zip 9073 Andrea bucket 2000.PNG

The buckles are smaller than most buckles used on Coach bags. Here is a comparison with the buckles on a Rambler's Legacy. They did come in brass but probably not in other sizes. The buckles on the 9073 are 1 1/8 inches on each side. What the measurements of the buckles on your bag? GEDC9378 (2).JPG

ETA: I believe a comparison of your buckles with authentic buckles such as those on 9073 was shown when we discussed your bag and there were differences.

A red "Sports Coach" "New York" bag is listed on ebay. I can't see the creed so just asking for confirmation before I report it as fake?

ALL "Sportscoach" items are always fake, and the name is stamped right on the front so you don't even need the creed as proof. It's from a Korean company that tried to hijack Coach's name in the late 1990s

Hi! I have another Poshmark request (I'm sorry, I'll try to make it the last one) that just seems too good to be true. It's a listing of 5 vintage bags that would be great to practice rehabbing. The styles are the leather "Made in the United States" and the numbers are hard to read. Any opinions would be welcome.

I'm seeing 4 creeds for 5 bags. The bags with the 4 creeds shown are authentic. I don't know about the 5th.

I thought it must be a fake because of the font being all over the place, which just confirms again the buckles being fake too. And yep, we did discuss the buckles being fake. This is just another confirmation of that, so thank you! I'm going to look for some generic ones.
I'd never seen a pink like that on a Coach bag either, but I'm not even close to pro level. The seller said it was a result of fading... I don't think a bag would fade so evenly over the entire bag. Lol. There's a lot of fake ones out there in that style! On nearly every one I looked at, the font was off. Well thanks again! :)

For the record, LoveVintageCoach was made aware that the bag was fake hours ago and hasn't ended her listing.

In fact, there were 2 fakes of that style (9405) that had been sold. One had a K3H serial prefix and the other had BIN. Both are now removed. (Except for the one with an illegible creed and serial number, the other completed listings are authentic.)

I'm seeing 4 creeds for 5 bags. The bags with the 4 creeds shown are authentic. I don't know about the 5th.
Interesting that some (if not all) of those bags were previously sold. I wonder why they're for sale again.

Note that if this is one of the bags in that listing, there's a reason for the missing creed. That bag is fake. (Again, I'm not sure whether this is one of the bags in the lot.)
