  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Was there something about it that made you think it was fake? Apparently it was removed either by the seller or Mercari.

It looked brand new and the color was quite orange for something that the seller was calling British Tan. The big thing was that there was not a mark on the bag. I guess I'm suspicious when something more than 20 years old looks so perfect.

Curiouser and curiouser! Well, if you spot it again, please post. Unusual colors always need a close look, that's something the fakes makers back then were famous for. Counterfeit oranges, greens and pinks were big. We've seen more than one screamingly fake hot pink Patricia's Legacy.

It's authentic. I don't have a catalog picture.

I found this one, Fall 1995, showing the new 4937 Fishing Creel Nubuc, with a description of the new 4909 Fishing Creel Natural Grain. Sorry about the poor resolution.
