Hoping you can authenticate the following? Thanks in advance.

Item: Basic Bag
Seller: purchased from an estate sale
Comments: the serial number is unusual, but I thought I had read somewhere that for a short time Coach did use 8 numbers?

It's authentic. The serial number was a mistake when the center dial of the stamper, that should have been set on the dash, was set to a number instead.

Thanks! Crossing fingers I will actually receive my first purple vintage bag (after the purple kimball fiasco I don’t have high hopes with Mercari these days). It seems a bit faded though... hoping rehabbing it will make some of it come back!
Purple sling twins! I'm glad you found a purple, I saw mercari also had a purple Casey up. Just fyi, the sling is a BIG bag. Lol.

Great find! The Sling, #9929. 1993 catalog, and Purple is indeed one of the color choices!

Thanks for the style number! I just googled the number to see what it looks modeled and omg @valv54 you’re right, it’s huge!! But I am glad to see you can wear it crossbody in the back, that’s what I was hoping for.
