yes, it looks as if that number has fallen off. when did coach stop making stuff in NYC?

i know little about this stuff. i remember as a kid, coach was hightly regarded and then my ex wife had a thing for coach bags. so when i bought bags, coach was the only name i knew, so i'd buy coach.

anyway, i'll get some more pictures up in a few minutes

To answer your question - Coach began to expand production to other locations including other parts of the US such as Miami and also possibly Puerto Rico beginning around 1987-88. Production at the NYC plant was gradually phased out over the next 10 years, and eventually the orignal plant was completely converted into their corporate offices except for a very small production area for making sample and pilot bags and to use temporarily in situations when the other plants couldn't handle the demand. Except for the aforementioned samples, pilot bags, and one-offs, production in New York had pretty much ended by mid-1998 as far as we can tell from the production codes in the serial numbers.

Just to add:
The last known "Made in New York City USA" creeds seem to have been used in 1987 or very early 1988. For the next few years the creeds would say Made in the United States or Made in U.S.A., or ... Italy or ... Costa Rica, whichever was appropriate. In late 1994 or early 1995 Coach began to replace the old creeds and text with stamps that included the country of origin in the body of the creed statement instead of at the bottom, a process that took more than a year to complete. Coach creeds were being modified almost constantly once the NYC creeds had been discontinued.

It's authentic.

Note that zipper brand is totally irrelevant when it comes to authenticity.

I remember reading that about the zipper brand, but I wasn't sure if you wanted an up close of the hardware in general. Do you mind telling me what the main giveaway was? That's mostly what I'm interested in knowing :)
The name or brand on a zipper doesn't mean anything and does nothing to prove or disprove authenticity. Please don't spend your time photographing it. And please ignore any "guides" that claim otherwise.

It's genuine.

Hello, when time permits, can I get an opinion on this embossed wallet/phone case? I picked it up on eBay and it is in my possession.
Seller: mypinkdream
Also I am attaching a link to a different listing that shows one with tags that did make me feel like it was likely an authentic piece. I can't find any info on Google about the style number so the more I think about it, the more I feel iffy about it.

ETA measurements: 6 x 3.75 x about .5 to .75 in depending on where its measured.

Hello authenticators. I’d love your opinion on this bag. There is no creed and the bag has lining. Thanks in advance!!

When I asked for the creed photo , the seller sent 3 photos and she couldnt find the creed!

First, it's not "vintage" since vintage is defined as being 20 years old or more. A bag that old would not have a lining and the edges of the strap would not be colored with dark edgepaint. If it's genuine, it's a modern remake of an older style. Depending on how recent it is, it may not have a creed but it might have a small tag sewn into the bottom seam of the inside pocket with 2 lines of letters and numbers. We usually need to see that tag. There might also be a tag that says where the bag was made. We would need to see that also. I can just barely see what might be the Coach name stamped into the leather near the bottom, the seller should have included a photo of that area.

I personally don't authenticate newer styles so please wait for more opinions. But without some sort of detail showing that it was actually made by Coach that may not be easy. The leather hangtag by itself isn't considered proof and neither is the dustbag, and if it's a recent style someone who's familiar with newer bags will have to look at it.

Although the item is authentic, had you posted prior to purchasing, I would probably have advised against the seller mypinkdream. And had you searched the seller ID mypinkdream, you would have seen the seller's long history. There are 6 Hall of Shame posts dating back to 2016.

The seller seems to purposely avoid showing the "right" details, either to hide that she has fakes or doesn't know whether items are authentic.

In fact, this is another current fake:

Oh my gosh, it crossed my mind to search the seller name but only for a brief flash of a second. This is a near miss then, so I will certainly not fail to do it in the future. Thank you for the information on this seller, for myself and for all the other potential buyers.

And My Sheridan is very proud of his Mummy as well!
yes, sheridan would know his purses just as mummy does, which certainly does not mean the disgusting things that beast onslow says it means!

so i do have one more coach purse, which i am hoping is fake as it is pretty junky. i am pretty sure this is the last one but one never knows what one will remember later. so, real or fake?
