I've never known a Goodwill employee to care if an item they sell is authentic or not. But Goodwill stores usually take returns. I doubt they would destroy them on your sayso.
Really? Mine usually takes care of them. There's a volunteer down there that lets them know if they're authentic or not when she catches them and they take razor knives to them and tosses them in the dumpster. Lol first time I saw it I had a heart attack because I thought they were doing it to real ones until I asked about it. Lol

ETA: I'm also from a tiny Town that has one stop light so that might be why they care about it. Idk. Lol

Please authenticate the following... I know, it's me again! My current obsession with classic Coach bags has almost run its course for the year. I went through the same thing last year and spent hours pouring over and comparing details of classic Coach bags. That was before I found this forum. Anyway...

I'm hoping you can help. Usually I have a pretty good eye on what's authentic and fake when I am looking at purchasing Coach bags but this one has me stumped. Looking up the serial number E042-4449, I have found similar bags but the dimensions for those are a couple inches bigger than this one. I'm also not sure whether this bag has a nylon or neoprene exterior. Please help if you can. Thanks!View attachment 4676025

That's one that only has photos of it in my files but No text or catalog information which makes me think it might have been made for the Factory stores. The material seems to be nylon and the body style would be a Zoe, but that's the only information I have other than a photo of another one from the same plant but made a few months earlier. This one is from 2004.. I'm sure it's genuine but the rest is a mystery. I don't think it would be neoprene.

The Zoes, even the boutique versions, came in several different sizes, this could be the smaller version. I had one is the Signature fabric and it was one of the few Coach styles with a Riri brand top zipper. I don't know if all the Zoes did, but don't be surprised if that's what it has. The name, if it's a Riri, is usually on the underside of the zipper mechanism. But mine was made in China and this one's from Turkey, which might make a difference.

This is actually the style that kicked off my current obsessive phase...the "need" for a black Basic Bag. I thought I had purchased one which you kindly authenticated for me. Alas, in its bath it showed it true color...navy! It's in the lotioning/conditioning phase and is shaping up to be a lovely bag. Way too many other bags later (they are just too lovely to resist), I still have yet to purchase that "needed" black Basic Bag. To that end, here are several I've been looking at.

Comments: I looked at this one but am thinking it is a fake...'Made in the United States' seems seriously crunched and appears possibly to be missing the 'I' in United and the typeface of the 'Coach' name in cartouche of this era creed seems all wrong, Just curious if you agree.

Comments: I would also love to know if you concur this bag is actually black. I'd hate to end up with two navy Basic Bags and still no black!

Comments: This one looks like the bag has been treated with something besides lotion or conditioner which makes me extremely leery,

Good morning authenticaters. Can you tell me if this small backpack is authentic. Found at a thrift this morning. Serial C8M-9960. Its a lavender color. If authentic what color would coach call it. Thank you so much
