Thank you and be safe!

Thanks for the great discussion on this. Can you tell me if the bag is truly old (60's) as the OG ebay post stated?

No, it's not from the 60s. 60s bags have no numbers. It is from the Lightweights collection that was made 1989-1993.

The style was introduced in the Fall 1987 (note correction!) catalog along with the rest of the original Lightweight line, and could have been made for several years after that. There's no way to know the exact year.

Hi! Can you please authenticate these 2 for me? I’ve added a creed photo of the Regina-had to use powder to show the serial number portion of the creed-it’s very difficult to read. Thx so much! :)

I hope I'm doing this right! I haven't posted in the PF in a long time.

The item in question is a Coach Rogue 30 First Generation in Black #20315. I received this bag through FB purse trading groups. The lady I traded with is well known in the groups and I have known her for years myself with many many great trades together. Anyway, after I traded this bag to another girl, it's authenticity has been questioned. The bag feels, looks and even smells like very good quality Coach, so I never even considered it could be a fake! The owner before me said the same thing and insisted there's no way its fake. Anyway, after a ton of research I'm still uncertain about its authenticity so I was hoping you all may be able to help! Here is the bag in question with all the pics necessary to determine authenticity. Please let me know what you all think. Ty! ❤️ (sorry if the pics are out of order)

I’m not an authenticator so wait for that from the experts but I can say it’s not a first generation Rogue. The first generation Rogues came with a lock & key as well as different zipper pulls, pebbled leather handles and interior key snap strap.

Oops! I must've forgotten the pic of the lock! It does have a lock although the key was missing when I received it. The original hangtag was missing as well.
I think you're right though about the pebbled leather handles etc... But the girl I got it from made a good point that the handles could've been replaced by the original owner although they did not disclose that to her if that were the case. ‍♀️
Honestly I'm leaning toward it being fake as well, but I'd like to be absolutely sure of course.

I hope I’m wrong but I believe the First generation Rogue’s locks did not have the horse and carriage stamp, it just had the Coach name. Also another thing is the first generation Rogue in black had gold hardware with black interior suede. Again, I’m NOT an authenticator, wait for their professional analysis. Now I’m really curious to see what the authenticators say about this bag.

Hi All,

I have a Coach City bag that was a family member's and am not sure of the serial number (I don't believe "N" is a code associated with the United States). The serial is B1N-9790 (at I think it is a 1 and not a capital letter I). Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sorry to have to tell you this, but it's counterfeit and while it may have sentimental value, it's technically of no financial value since it's illegal and against federal law in the US to sell or trade counterfeit items, and donating them is strongly discouraged since that only passes on the problem and a chance for someone else to get cheated.

The serial number prefix (whether the middle digit is the number One or the letter "i") is always fake, and the turnlock was never used by Coach. Your relative unknowingly bought a fake.

Thanks...I had a feeling it was not real. No trying to resell or even donate this one!

I can't authenticate as the bag is outside my area of knowledge, but I notice the words stamped on the bottom of the bag are "GENUINE GLOVE TANNED LEATHER and I believe it should say "GENUINE GLOVETANNED PEBBLE LEATHER."

Please wait for other opinions on authenticity.
