Item: Coach Mini Sage Carryall Satchel
Listing number: Doesn't have one as it is from Poshmark
Seller: bellaesler

Comments: Hello. I recently purchased this bag from Poshmark and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me authenticate it. I have attached a photo of the creed stamp.

Sorry for being annoying but I re-looked at the creed patch and noticed a run on sentence. Between the word "AUTHENTICITY" and "FEW" there was no period and most coach creeds I've seen also had a period at the end of the paragraph just for consistency. This raises red flags for me since shouldn't the grammar on a coach creed be perfect? (i.e. spelling is all correct and periods should be where they need to be)

Thank you in advance again.

Hello! Can this be authenticated? I can’t seem to find a periwinkle color from 1994 and I know that the L plant was a US plant but it seems like 95 or 96 would be more likely? Thanks!

Item: Lula’s legacy
Link: https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m84386109653/?iv_code=BUCGNW&object_id=m84386109653&object_type=item

Seller: Sheila

Someone made an offer on it already.
Edit: someone bought it right after I posted lol how nice.

Hi ladies. I bought the bag in question, but I did so before I saw the authentication post. I cruise Mercari and Ebay on Sunday mornings because that's the day I wake up with my four year old. I did come look to see if anyone was asking about it after I bought it, but I've been wanting a non brown/black bag and decided to take the risk of not having authenticated because that was a good price and things go fast on Mercari. I'm sorry to cause upset.

Please wait for other opinions but I'm afraid there are some problems with this bag. Lula's Legacy style 9952 was introduced in 1994, but the earliest I've seen Periwinkle as an available color is 1997. There are some authentic L plant creeds but I don't believe this is one of them.

Thanks! I knew I was taking a risk; Mercari seems to have a pretty good return policy.
Since it's Sunday, the seller clearly hasn't shipped yet. Can't you contact either the seller or Mercari and request (or rather DEMAND) a refund?

Hello Authenticators! I was wondering if you could help me authenticate this purse. Thank you in advance.

Forgot to post the creed

Sorry. It's not you I was ignoring but I try to avoid helping Poshmark.

The bag looks good to me.

Oh I see. Thank you so much for your help anyways. The thing that just kind of made me suspicious is 1) the photo where the bottom of the bag is showing, if you look at the center vertical pattern you can see on the left and right side of the CC where the seam is that one C on the left overlaps and the other C on the right doesn't and 2) on the creed, I've heard that authentic coach purses have the "o" and the underline in "No" just halfway down the N but then again these are just things I read online *shrugs*

Please don't believe ANY of those "rules" you find online!

Patterns sometimes overlap or don't line up, that's normal.

"I've heard that authentic coach purses have the "o" and the underline in "No" just halfway down the N but then again these are just things I read online *shrugs*
Totally wrong! There are no common rules, every plant's stamps are different and Coach changes details constantly. Don't ever believe any of that nonsense.

To add to what Hyacinth posted earlier, not only does every plant have different stamps but there can be variations from style to style from the same plant.

Another thing that's often stressed is that in spite of what you may have read somewhere, Coach isn't perfect. Pattern matches aren't always perfect, there is an occasional error on a creed and in some cases, I've found rare instances of a misspelled word on a creed of a particular style.

When making comparisons, you MUST COMPARE APPLES TO APPLES. The comps must be (at the very least), from the same year and plant and the bags should be the same style.

I wanted to find another of the same bag (style 29434) to show you another creed but GRRR! Frustratingly, very few sellers showed creeds.

Ugh! I do see that your creed is missing the punctuation.

I'm at a loss because I believed that the bag was authentic but now I'm not sure.

Give me some time to do more research.

@Jannah97

Please don't fret. I still believe that you have an authentic bag and I'm finding another creed (same plant but different dates) with the same lack of punctuation.

Please try to get a well-focused straight on picture of the creed without any glare.

ETA: Please also clarify the second half of the serial number on the creed patch. Does it say F28434 or F29434?

Grammar on a creed from a US plant usually was perfect. Grammer and punctuation from NON-US creeds can be correct or it can be a mess, whether it's real OR fake. We've seen all sorts of oddball creeds from legitimate Coach plants outside the US in the last 25 years. Most were small mistakes but mistakes nonetheless. Just because whoever is responsible for ordering the creed speaks English, that doesn't mean they have the knowledge and experience of US grammer, spelling and punctuation to qualify as a New York Times editor OR a Coach creed creator. (And i've seen plenty of spelling and punctuation mistakes in the New York Times too!)

Hello BeenBurned. Yes I agree I was pretty certain this was authentic until I started noticing little things here and there. It seems like a pretty rookie mistake to me to have an entire run on sentence like that. I have not yet seen a creed of that same wording with missing periods. Also, another thing, on the photo where it shows the bag from the front, you can kind of notice a stitch on the slight left of the center that is diagonal, but then again nothing is perfect.

I don't have the bag in my possession yet since I had ordered it Friday and Canada Post doesn't ship on weekends. I'm assuming though that I will receive the bag within maybe 1-3 days since the seller lives only 3 hours away.

As for the serial number, the original photo the seller sent was hard to read but I played with it using photo editing and I believe it says F29434.

I can understand the frustration as it would be 100x easier to be able to inspect the bag in person, but nevertheless, I really appreciate everyone's help.

This may be one from the same plant, a few months later, style F29434. Note the punctuation variations.

Hello Hyacinth! I agree that Coach can't always be perfect and they can also make mistakes. I just kind of assumed that creed stamps were mass produced for the company in a sense that, they would have the same template for all creeds (the ones with the same wording anyways).

Oh, I see that now. So that would make sense then. I guess creeds are factory specific since they put the specific factory number on there. In that case, I feel a little bit better about it. I guess all that's left is to wait to receive the purse and do an in-person inspection of the material and the finer details that cameras can't pick up too well. Thank you so much for your help!

Kind authenticators - when you have a moment, I'd appreciate your thoughts on the following bag I just picked up at Goodwill. Apologies for the picture of the serial number. I had a terrible time getting one due to the small size of the bag. Please just let me know if you need a better one before you can comment! Thank you!

Item: Megan
Dimensions: 7" (L) x 2.5' (W) x 7" (H)

You're welcome. The big question in my mind is still the style number on the bag you're getting. If it is F28434 then that could be a problem.
