Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

I purchased a black coach Beckett briefcase from “christineli0126” on Poshmark. I have the brown version of this bad and I noticed a few critical differences in craftsmanship. I believe this to be a really good fake. Please confirm. Photos attached.

If you scroll up to my post just a short while ago, you can read my feelings toward Poshmark. I've also commented many other times with valid concerns about the site, how it's run and its safety, both for buyers and sellers.

Normally, I don't authenticate PM listings because I don't want to promote them, however had you come here prior to purchasing, I would likely have commented on the seller's pictures (taken in the outlet store) and the lack of required pictures in the listing necessary for authentication.

Keep in mind that showing an item in the store doesn't necessarily mean that that's the item you will receive. There are countless sellers on various sites that use Coach's stock images to sell fakes. As a buyer, you want to see pictures of the actual item you will receive and that the seller has on hand.

With all that said, I'm not seeing any glaring problems with the pictures you've posted.

Please show comps of your other item to illustrate the differences in craftsmanship you are referring to. Keep in mind that Coaches aren't perfect and any guide that claims they are is one that you should avoid.

They're 2 different styles so you aren't comparing apples to apples.

The brown one is style 71247 and the black is style 72230.

While both are signature briefs, the patterns are different and there are other differences.
71247 is embossed, meaning the pattern in pressed into the leather.
72230 is debossed, meaning the pattern is raised.
Hang tags on both are different from each other.
Straps are different.
The differences you're concerned with are correct for the different bags.

I haven't looked into the measurements but from what I see, the bag looks fine and you just have 2 different SIMILAR styles of bags.

Thank you... I was concerned. They had slight differences and I couldn’t verify. I only just learned about this group.
