While I'm certainly not defending a seller who took several years of mixing fakes and many listing removals, I think she did get the message!

There's nothing wrong with being a flipper as long as one flips genuine items and for the last several months, she has been verifying authenticity of her items on ebay's fashion board prior to listing. She's still buying some fakes (by mistake) but after learning that they're not authentic, she hasn't listed them. I haven't seen a fake in her listings since Feb. 2019. She also sells on PM and hasn't listed the fakes there either.

While I still think it's a good idea to get verification on any items from any sellers when you aren't sure of authenticity, I felt it was fair to point out that some sellers do seem to learn from mistakes.

ETA: I DO watch her listings and if I see her slip, I'll be right on it!

Please tell us where you got this bag if it is in your possession. If you purchased it online, we need the name of the seller and a link to the online listing. It's an authentic riding bag spectator #6750 from around 1989-1990.
Yes, I have the bag in my possession. I was getting ready to list it for sale on eBay. If you can believe it, I found it in someone’s trash pile awhile ago (my treasures). I can’t start to tell you the amazing items I’ve come across over the years.

How did you pay for it? If you used Paypal or a credit card, file a dispute.

Based on the receipt, tags, items, etc., I think the seller is part of a ring and that's why they aren't selling on ebay any longer.

Can you give amazel_ a negative feedback? Can you report fakes on Carousell?

Did you happen to notice that the creed on the bag you received is a different bag than is shown in the listing?

AMAZEL_ may have purchased one authentic item (or that too might be fake) but the one you received is UNQUESTIONABLY fake as are all the props and the seller is lying to you.

Unfortunately she went silent and insisted its authentic. I even reported to carousell, they asked me to get an email from Coach itself but Coach cant authenticate it for me. I paid using bank transfer though not sure how will it work.

Im asking if this forum would be suffice. Sigh..

Generally, authentications here aren't adequate and not accepted by online venues though there have been instances where ebay has accepted TPF and/or fashion board (ebay discussion board) posts as authentications.

Although in Europe and some other countries, bank transfers are common, I would NEVER use it nor recommend unless you are dealing with someone you know and trust. (Online sellers are not people you "know" nor trust.) Sending money by a bank transfer is the equivalent of sending cash and the likelihood of getting it back is next to nothing unless Carousell will protect you and go after the seller themselves.

If Carousell recommends or requires a professional evaluation to prove fake, there are very few companies that I'd recommend. We can recommend someone if you need it but you might ask if you can send them links to the posts here and if they'll accept it.

I'm so sorry but you bought it from a scammer.

The bag is fake, the receipt is fake and the tag is fake. The name on the receipt, "James Vaias" and the Chandler, AZ outlet location have been discussed and associated with a Japanese scammer ring.

This thread is a warning although most of the sellers discussed on the thread aren't selling their close fakes on ebay any longer because so many listings were removed. They've moved on to Shoppee, Carousell, Tokopedia and others.

Notice that the tag and the receipt show the item as a black accordian wallet.

Here are just a few of the problems:
  • Sloppy creed stamping
  • sloppy creed stitching
  • The creed shows the bag as being made in 2017 yet I don't believe the style came out until 2019.
  • Hang tag isn't correct
  • Made in tag shows a MFF (outlet) style yet creed shows that bag would be a boutique (full-priced) style
The following pictures show the sloppy creed with incorrect text on the fake vs. a creed from an authentic similar style as well as another comp of the same style as your fake is supposed to be: (Click to enlarge)

And a comparison of the hang tags -- your fake vs authentic hangtag from the same bag on the Coach website:

Ive been noticing a lot of very new styles popping up on poshmark for very cheap and multiples from the same sellers.
