Hi!

eBay removed three of my vintage Coach bag listings. Two of the bags I wasn’t sure about myself when I purchased from my local thrift for resale (see attached pics of Coach B6T- 4917 and Coach D6P-9960), but the one I’m almost positive is authentic (see attached pics of Coach K3H-9303, this is the one I most need an authentication opinion on. Though I do also welcome an opinion on the other two.

Thanks so much for any comments on whether these bags are authentic, and if not, how you can tell.

Best!

***NOTE: The pics did not upload in the correct order, but hopefully, you all can figure out what label creeds for with which bag. Again, thanks***

We've talked about the K3H- serial prefix dozens of times before in this forum. Did you run a forum search for those numbers? The updated Daria48 Fakes list posted right in this Coach Shopping at the end of the Salearea Guides thread also covers the subject. Please remember to always do a forum search first where possible when asking questions.

There are 11 PAGES that include posts discussing that number. Read the posts:
https://forum.purseblog.com/search/9710530/?q=K3H&t=post&o=date&c[node]=29+284+114+113+129

As for the other 2 bags, and again a reading of the Salearea Guides will give you a clue about the big problem with at least one of them:

The B6T- prefix with that plant code in am Italy-made bag is ALWAYS invalid. NO exceptions. We've seen at least one other obvious fake with an Italy creed and a T plant code.
ETA - Coincidentally there's a post from earlier today about another bag with a fake T plant code and an Italy stamp and that also includes mention of one of your fakes:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...ost-for-format.889527/page-2892#post-33459089

I have NO records of any D6P- serials in my files, or of ANY serials from all of 1996 or 1997 with a P plant code. You're welcome to post more detailed photos of the bag, inside and out, but I can already see one detail on the bag that's a major red flag. The style number even belongs to a completely different bag

The K3H- bag also has a common construction mistake found only on fakes besides just the serial prefix

When asking about more than one bag please put each one in a separate post.

And WHY, in VIOLATION OF EBAY RULES, would you ever list ANY bags that you WEREN'T SURE WERE AUTHENTIC ?????

Omg! I'm so sorry! I missed that in the rules. I'll post pics of the bag and where I got it right now. I honestly just don't want to do someone wrong! Here's pics and original buying info.

Thank you for replying and explaining what the problems are with these three fake bags...I’m new here and do not know how to search the threads and etc...I Googled to see if I could find instructions or a video that would help...Since I regularly buy and sell vintage Coach bags, though, I will now start coming here first - before I go to eBay, as the reason I bought each of these is, they were active or had been sold on eBay by other sellers...Any way, I thank you again, and should I ever again have questions about more than one bag - I will be sure to ask about each in a separate post.

If you bought them on ebay within the last 6 months, you may be able to get your money back by opening a not as described case. Also call ebay and tell them that you bought them on ebay and give them the item numbers/seller's name. They might remove the defects from your account.

You can't learn to authenticate from watching a few videos. Be very careful because a lot of the information on the Internet is wrong. The best thing you can do to learn is to read this thread regularly. After awhile, you'll be able to spot more mistakes.

Thank you for the great advice! I will come back here often and check before I buy again. Kindest regards!

1- genuine, from 2001 but made in Costa Rica, not the US and won't be "vintage" until 2021

2- strap and strap hardware wasn't made by Coach but the rest of the bag is genuine, made in 1994

3- genuine, from 1996. Note that the shoulder strap is not adjustable.
