Hi Hyacinth! Got the bag finally. Can you tell me what this colour is?

View attachment 4569780

THIS is why I HATE to get involved in guessing colors and why I almost never do it unless there's a catalog that verifies the color.

Looking at the seller's original photos, there are 2 different shades of tan, the majority of the pics look like BT and the creed photo looks like Camel.

Now your photo is a different shade from the seller's photos, it's about halfway between her colors.

The Holiday Preview 1998 catalog lists ONLY Mahogany, Black, British Tan and Navy so that's what I'm going with.

ETA - SORRY! Whateve was faster out of the gate.

I am obviously spending this cloudy afternoon looking at vintage Coach on several buying sites.
If I remember correctly, P1T are fakes. Please let me know. Thank you!
Item: vintage Coach backpack

seller: JP1977
Comments: If this is a fake, that is a lot of money to spend! :annoyed:

It's fake. My sympathies to any potential buyer.

Even though Google is totally useless at proving anything's genuine, it usually manages to find posts here and elsewhere about confirmed fake numbers. Buyers need to do their own research before buying.

It gets to a point where people have to look before they leap. Etsy isn't much good at removing reported fakes either. If anyone wants to try reporting the fake to Etsy, please do.

Anyone who buys ANY highly faked brand without checking is just asking to be ripped off.

Seller: Forever Creative Collectibles

Comments: 120$ is a lot of money to pay for a counterfeit made in Korea! Correct me if I am wrong that this is not fake please. Thank you!

This is another case where a quick Google for "coach purses or handbags made in Korea?" would have given the seller a clue:
https://www.google.com/search?q=were+coach+purses+or+handbags+made+in+Korea?&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

BeenBurned, you usually have good luck with getting Bonanza fakes pulled - do you want to give it a try? Korean POS with fake zipper pulls and much-too-short inside pocket zipper.

Thanks Hyacinth and BeenBurned, that would be such a shame if someone buys this.

I understand what you are saying Hyacinth, but newbies to Coach may not be aware of how many fakes are out there. I knew the newer ones, ie sigs etc, but did not think the older ones were counterfeited. Lesson learned! And as always, thank you and the others for your time and help :flowers:

Reading this thread and examining the bags I bought. When you have them in your hand, you see and feel things that can't be seen in pictures. Most of the fakes I've handled don't feel right. That made me look at them closer and discover where there were differences from the real thing.

When we tell you something is fake, look at it closely and see if you can figure out all the things on it that are wrong.
Yes, whateve, I see that the fake Anderson's leather is stiff and not soft like a real Coach. Thanks!
