Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number

  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read

Comments: This one has the original creed with the dummy style #, so this one is older than mine and has a bit more wear, but is in pretty good shape overall. It's also missing the hang tag and (other thing I can't remember the name of - the key holder thing), but I do believe it to be genuine. I just wanted to confirm before I give it as a gift. My family member loves my hand-me-down bags, but I just can't think I'll ever want to part with my own Rogue 25!

I asked the seller for a pic. She sent me this.

I asked her where she got it and she told me she bought it at Tjmaxx. I didn't ask for a receipt or anything but I did tell her it's not authentic and someone possibly switched and returned the fake at the store. I haven't heard back since then.

Absolutely fake.

ETA: And here are a number of posts with that serial number as "always fake."

Yep, every code in that serial number is invalid except for the month code.

The leather feels light because it's from the Lightweight line, late 1980s. BTW, please remember to include measurements. It looks like a 4025 Shoulder Pouch.

Oops again, sorry! I just measured it and it’s 9 (length) x 11 (width) x 5 (depth), approximately , wasn’t whether to smoosh it flat to measure across.

I have examples from March, July and November of that year, all with the DR as the place of manufacture, not the US. The font in the fake' serial number is also much too thick. The strap is also wrong, it's too thin and would NOT have had a mid-strap buckle adjustment AND buckle adjustments at both ends. Search Ebay for Coach 9146 to see what I mean.

Thanks Hyacinth. I appreciate the information. Are the other two fakes as well: the Bixby and what I think is an East-West baguette?

(While it's possible that a dishonest customer may have done a switch by buying a genuine item from Coach and returning a fake, I can count on less than one hand the number of times I've seen the possibility that it may have happened.)

Hello, BeenBurned. Thanks for your advice and explanation. Yeap due to first timer we really just want to make sure.. as I did check online on how to spot fake coach handbags, I found out that most bag’s serial on the creed usually doesn’t seems as “static” or I should say the font style are different, that’s why I felt hesitate and they also said that the horizontal line below “o” in the “No”, should be not as aligned with the bottom of the N.. something like that. Anyway, I believe your authenticating! Thanks! Probably the last thing to feel sad about is the strap scratch
